That was interesting.

Really?
Would take a sudden change of heart from the board. Fantastic news if true though.

I believe it would be because of new investment, probably would also spell the end for McKnight.

and the nods and winks begin again.
We've organised a march! by the way it's actually for some faceless investors, not for fans as you've been led to believe, but hey! said faceless investors will bring back Jim! Look, they're on YOUR side.
Go! Go! Go! St Saviour / HFG / whoever it is this time, you really are the best.

This is what I was trying to dig out the other day when I first heard it.
Some are happy to accept anything because we are truly at our lowest point, but I think we should be at least given the full facts and the truth.

you should know better than that by now Jack!
My immediate assumption when this thread mysteriously appeared was that the 'fans march' would ultimately end up having 'bring back Jim' as one of it's demands, thinking it was an easy way to win over the fanbase.
I'm pleasantly surprised from this thread that it won't be such an 'easy win' for them, and that we finally may be remembering to ask questions of those who promise us things.

If he comes back it would be massively disrespectful to Alan Lord, IMO. The guy has inherited the disaster that Ian Bogie left us with and turned us into a side that can compete at this level (albeit inconsistently). I'd much rather give Lord a couple of seasons to see what he can do. Jim has had his chance.
Plus it would mean yet another season where we've got through three managers. This ridiculous revolving door has got to stop - it's one of the main reasons we're not even a professional football club anymore.

In fairness I would like to see Lord given more of a chance, I think he deserves the respect off us not to be questioning him after such a short time, let him get a keeper in and a better centre half and we could be alright. But if I could choose anyone to replace Lord it would be Jim, only if it was guaranteed he would have the board's backing and would be here for the long term.
Would he want to come back though? He was reluctant the first time.

Would he want to come back though? He was reluctant the first time. that's entirely irrelevant. What this shows is that the people wanting to takeover are on 'our' side, and have 'our' best interests at heart. Go Them!

Yeah that's good, and 'Go Them!' sure but my point is there's not much point having a big discussion if he'll come back and getting our hopes up if it seems unlikely that he wouldn't want to come back anyway.

missed the sarcasm I think?
my point is whether or not he's interested in the job doesn't matter in the slightest.
The whole point of this rumour is that it's (most likely) being put out there by the latest in a long line of interested parties as part of their pre-negotiation strategy to buy the club / gets the fans on board with the idea that they'll be great and have the interests of the fans at heart.
I'll happily admit I could be very much mistaken and making 2+2 = 5, but when talks of a takeover mysteriously surface at the same time we're told Jim will return, I find this hard to take as anything but a piece of PR bollocks being put out there by someone.

The more I think this through, the more I hope it doesn't happen. I think it'll end badly for Stockport County and badly for Jim Gannon.
Obviously I'd welcome any new investment (as long as it's real investment and not from a scouse money-launderer, for example), but I'd hope they'd put the good of Stockport County first and finally let us have a bit of continuity by giving Lord a chance.

I seriously don't think it is PR bollocks Heaton Chapel/Heatonhatter (How confusing?!)
You saw the sort of answers SS was initially giving me on Monday/Tuesday and nothing has really been said about this.
