What did we think of the new chap in nets then?
I thought he did well. Looked confident, was very vocal. Seemed to have that little bit of cockyness that perhaps you need, and a great penalty save. Only slight negative was his kicking, although it was difficult with the wind I guess. I expect him to keep the shirt for the next few games though, hopefully he can kick on.

I thought the penalty save was an awesome save and he did pull of a few very good saves throughout the game, he seemed very confident and slotted in very well, you could tell he had been with the squad for a while and not just a loanee thats been recently brought in. Theres no chance he will lose his place on todays performance imo

He was excellent today. Other than the top drawer penalty save, he commanded his area, the defence seemed confident in him and he was decisive. His distribution wasn't the best, but it was so windy it would be very harsh to draw conclusions from that.
What frustrates me is that he's been sat on the bench for weeks and we've stuck with Ormson. Lordy has to keep Jones in goal now.

Having watched him warm up a couple of times I noticed his kicking was a bit weak at times. Hopefully it's something he'll improve the more he plays. His penalty save looked superb from where I was.

I noticed him slice a couple in to the main stand at half time during the Gloucester game. If he keeps conceding goals to a minimum then I can forgive him for the occasional poor kick.

Isn't Jones on a pay as you play deal?
Better get another decent hospitality event sorted asap or Ormson will be back in goal!

Yesterday was difficult to judge his kicking the conditions were poor. However as has been said his communication and command of area seemed ok. I would start him ahead of Ormson against Oxford.

Excellent debut for a young lad capped by that wonderful penalty save, took control of crosses and corners when they were swung in which with him being vocal also seemed to give the defence a bit more confidence, looked dominant in net but is still young and on a learning curve, certainly did enough by far to keep his place.

Yep, not the easiest day (weather-wise) to be a gk. I thought he equipped himself very well.

Like others have said, fantastic save. Looked comfortable throughout I thought. No fault for either goal. Hope to see him in at Oxford.

He had a very good game. It will be nice to see him between the sticks over the next few matches.

Great game for him, the penalty save was decent but wasn't in the corner and the the perfect height for a keeper. Other than that he had a decent game (can't comment on on their 2nd goal as I had no idea what actually happened).
The kicking was truly terrible though, the weather can't be an an excuse for that and it will cost us over the season if he doesn't get better, but that's one of the easier things to improve on as a GK.
