Today was a similar story to Tuesday night, but unfortunately an identical scoreline. Another promising performance against strong opposition, but like the Barrow friendly we were unable to convert our chances.
Like many squads in the past we seem to lack firepower again. I am of the belief that every player in our squad is exciting and promising and I have no complaints about anyone. But I am sorry to keep on about this point we still need TWO quality goalscorers to have any chance of promotion.
Marsden, Lloyd, Amis and possibly Thomas will add goals, plenty I hope. When we had players like Francis and Preece, we normally took advantage of an early lead and we need someone that will give us an early advantage in future games.
I truly believe we MUST find a prolific goalscorer or two and the players I previously mentioned in a previous thread have gone elsewhere. I trust in Jimbo to explore the loan market efficiently. Everton's Dyson and/or Brewster would do for me, but please Jimbo sort it before it is too late.

Quite pleased with today's performance and would have liked to see some of the trialists start at the beginning, especially Craig Carney, who's shooting looked promising. Glad to see Scott Spencer back. I trust in our manager to sort out the lack of fire power and if he can get Scott and Godwin working well within the Squad, would be happy to see all our trialists sign up.
Interested I note that Chorley have signed Sefton Gonzales, Marcus Carver and Jason Walker to assist Jordan Connerton, the main strikers in their squad. All four, of course, were on NYs wanted list.

Jim seems very happy with what he's got, he thinks he's got a really good balance.

Think we could score a number of goals tonight as the players get match fit.would hope the team last the course to 90 mins but that will come.

We have played all our friendlies now and we look a good promising squad, but there is one ingredient missing. Firepower. Just wish JG had bought in two strikers from this division or the one below.
This needs sorting quickly if we are to challenge for promotion this season.

I thought we looked good yesterday when Odejaye and Spencer came on.

In the first two matches the lads have shown real quality in their goal taking and I trust in Mr Gannon to remedy any short comings. Cannot complain about lack of firepower, but still feel we need a Kristian Dennis type of goalscorer or two and would like to see Brewster, Dyson and Kirby back on loan.

After pre season and five league games I have had time to reflect. Looking at today's games two ex loanees both on my summer hit list Jonathan Margetts and Danny L Rowe both scored four goals each today and both have scored loads in the first few league games and close season too. I just wish............ we had them at Edgeley Park
I expect and trust our manager to get us a winning, entertaining and promotion candidate team, but it is going to take time, maybe longer on current form than we all hoped. But I am convinced he will get us promoted eventually, trust him and support him, there is no one better to manage the club, I am convinced of that. The defence at present is weak, midfield poor and our strike force of Odejayi, Amis and Spencer non existent.
I hope to see a couple of new signings this week and would welcome to see the return of two loanees from the class of 15 with the likes of, Jake Kirby and Calum Dyson. Now Jordan Thorniley is at Sheffield Wednesday it is unlikely they will let him out on loan, but a strong centre back is also required.
Whoever we sign, they need to be fit, athletic, strong physical quality players to compliment the squad and we need them this week as the next game is certainly winnable with the right side.

4-0 today would have flattered Worcester. Good all round performance, another clean sheet and Rule put himself about when he came on and impressed JG.
For me we lack a goalscorer and JG must find one soon. Damien Reeves would be my choice.

One of my shouts in the summer Johnny Margetts who had a trial with Lincoln and scored loads to earn a contact then scored five in the league to earn a deadline move to Scunthorpe with Lincoln getting a pocket load of cash. Wouldn't County have loved that. Also Dean Henderson has gone to Grimsby on a long loan. Good luck to the lad, a decent keeper.

Another disappointing defeat with a performance especially in the first half that should have won the match. One goal from the new boy to show for all the chances created. Nine games gone now and surely JG must see that we need natural goalscorers. Two on my summer wish list Denton and Rowe are bagging them in with ease, we need two of the like. We have had Kirby, Brewster and Dyson here briefly in the past and all seen what they can do, so let's try and get them back or find similar out there. Over to you JG, only you can sort this, but sorting is urgently needed now, preferably before the weeks out. Definitely before this month is over if we are to achieve promotion this season. Odejayi needs shipping out and Amis Is not quite ready yet. Spencer is useful as a substitute but not fit enough for 60 minutes. JG sort it now please.

Still seriously lacking firepower up front and am really disappointed that this problem hasn't been sorted with some loanees especially with an important game against Flyde tomorrow night. Flyde had added Alfretons Bradley who has always impressed me and with ex loanee Danny L Rowe scoring at will, we are in for a tough time tomorrow and had hoped we would have strengthened appropriately.

When will JG realise that we need a decent striker as it's imperative that we take our chances when they come. Josh did well last night but is a work in progress and I am convinced that if we had a quality goalscorer similar to Flyde's two Dans, Rowe and Bradley, we would have won last night and all the games we have lost as well and would and should have been at the top of this division. It is not difficult to see what we need. A QUALITY STRIKER.
This would have been a useful front five
Bradley, Rule, Amis, Rowe, Lloyd. So how about
Brewster, Rule, Amis, Dyson, Lloyd. The two young Evertonian lads looked pretty useful last season.
