Firstly New Year wishes for every County fan for a happy, healthy and prosperous 2017. Hoping also that everyone had an enjoyable Chistmas as well.
Unfortunately again today County were undone by their own misfortune, something that would not have mattered had we been two goals to the good, but a vital two points lost, not for the first time this season either.
A lack of a true striker continues to haunt us. I noticed Adam Morgan has scored four in his first two matches for Halifax and Delial Brewster scored for Southport on his debut. Two players I would have loved in our squad.
My New Years wish would be for Jim to bring some quality in that will assist Danny Lloyd with the goalscoring duties and propel us to promotion, this season rather than next please.

IMO Jim has made a useful signing with a goalscoring midfield on loan. Striker to follow soon.

Osbourne made a decent debut too by all accounts.

Another good signing to strengthen either our defence or midfield. Can we have another striker please Jimbo.

Hope JG can draw out the best in Sefton or we will still need another prolific marksman

He wasn't on long enough to tell but he wasn't running around like a headless chicken anymore and he made a few contributions, fingers crossed.

I started this thread in early July. Our squad is promising but still lacks firepower. I am convinced that had this been sorted and we had brought in a striker who had scored as many as Danny Lloyd we would be challenging Flyde for the title and not on the edge of the playoffs.
It is still not to late to rectify the situation. We need another Osborne and a goalscorer and we could still achieve promotion. The next two months will tell.

We need to replace Osborne ASAP as it's not Duxbury's position, the striker thing was always going to bite us and unless we can get a decent loan player we might not find anyone easily this late in the season.

Once again Saturday showed our failings. Multiple missed chances happen in every match this season. Still not sorted the striker we desperately require, but another midfielder has joined today. Harry Winter from FCUnited. Hope that elusive goalscorer will follow soon.

Jim says there are goals in the team, but I am not convinced there is enough to retain a place in the play offs at the end of the season. To make our team strong I would like to see a couple of renowned strikers arrive. Players like Tamworth's Danny Newton and Curzon's Niall Cummins could form a reliable partnership. If Jim wants to take the cheap option, we could add a couple of loans and maybe get Brewster back from Everton and Rochdale's young lad Hooper.
Still need to strengthen our goalscoring opportunities if we are to become a formidable team and achieve promotion. If we qualify for the playoffs we still need to win them. I don't want to spend another season in this division so action now is a MUST. I good run in will drive the momentum on to next season too.
Jim is already sorting out his players for next season and already the squad is looking promising. There is a good spirit in the squad and if we could get a goalscoring nine and ten, with DL already on fire we would be unstoppable. Looking back at the results this season with a little more composure in front of goal, we could already have achieved our goal.
Go to it Jim, sort it please before it is too late.

As we move into the last 10 games especially with three vital games coming up which will make or break our season, I think Jim has assembled so far a fantastic group of players.
It has been a long time that we as fans can feel certain that a number of players will commence each game and I am certain that Jim Gannon has these players pencilled into the line up as certain starters. Hinchliffe, Minihan, Clarke, Smalley, Hampson, Montrose, Winter, Ball and Lloyd. This leaves two to consider for up front, either as two direct attackers or a wide player and solo man up front. Ormson, Ross, Duxbury, Felix and Marsden are all quality players for the Bench.
So really we have Amis, Odejayi and Gonzales to pick for the front two. Surely we can find better quality for the run in. A prolific scorer is a must, whether he be from this league or the league below or a loan player.
Wei must win 2-0. As the first goal must be a play off place by the end of the season and the second goal is to win the playoffs.
Go to it and do it JG. For the chance is worth taking and a gamble on a new striker is a MUST to achieve our goals.

The prolific DL did it again today. Gave us a deserved lead, where would we be without him. Where would we be if we had another quality prolific goalscorer in the team, something I have been crying out for when I identified the problem last July. Yet again we squandered two points through a lack of sufficient goals, a situation that has happened a number of times this season and we could and would have been top now.
I think next Thursday is the deadline day and if we want promotion, we have to find a forward who knows how to score to assist Danny. And to safeguard any future injuries maybe a couple of loanee forwards should be brought in.
This is the final chance with only eight maybe ten games to go to achieve promotion.
I hope JG does not want to be managing County for another season in this division.
Let's sort this now Jim and get County promoted this season please.

At the start of the season, I would have been quite happy at this stage to have seven winnable games remaining and 60 points on board, but although I am pleased with the last two games, to only let a penalty be conceded, once again I am disappointed by the number of chances that were missed again. When is Jim going to realise that we mustn't keep relying on Lloyd to score the goals to earn us points. If Danny gets injured in the run in who is going to score the goals to get us in the playoffs never mind win them. We now only have 40 hours to bring in a goalscoring forward which has been a must have all season. Kidderminster bought the son of a former goalie of ours on Monday and he scored a brace tonight to come back from 2-0 down at Tamworth and claim all three points, which moves them two more points further away from us.
If we don't act before Thursday evening we can kiss goodbye to promotion this year and remember there is no quarantee that we will go up next year if we fail this. Sort the lack of goals now and reap the rewards in the future, don't and suffer the consequences. Now is the time do it before is is too late.
Surely investing in one more forward who knows where the net is and a partner for Sefton, may be the jigsaw piece to make Gonzales click. Worth a gamble.
