Every club has had more than their fair share. Anthony Elding has popped up bagging the winner for Sligo Rovers with a nice picture of him with his top off. No doubt that it came off in the excitement of running towards the beloved fans of his current badge kissing club. www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/24795770So who's your favourite/most loathed County mercenary?

Is Elding yours?
24 goals in a year is pretty good.
James Tunnicliffe is mine.

He's both my favourite and the one I hate the most and that's largely due to the difference in his attitude between his first and last spell at the club.

I'm not really sure there's a mercenary that springs to mind. We've never paid enough, or been attractive enough, to get anyone of any significance.
Most of the Hamann wasters spring to mind, but Proudlock still riles me unlike any other. He could have been a proper County great but chose not to be.

I think Ian Crainey and Jonny Routledge are my most loathed mercenaries. Only because I saw both of them play absolute blinders when they were here on trial pre-season, then as soon as pen is put to paper they just can't be arsed anymore.

I don't think Proudlock had an attitude problem, he was just a flair player. People like Taarabt are the same but at a higher level.
He wanted to play the free role but there was never really room for that in a Jim Gannon side, he only played when we played 2 up top. He was good with Elding & Dickinson for a while.

A flair player?! Proudlock did play a free role of sorts because all he did was saunter around the pitch picking and choosing when to get involved in the play. He was a lethargic waste of talent.

I didn't like McGoldrick at all especially after the citeh game all those years ago, didn't mind Tony Ellis in his brief spell here seem to remember him smashing a goal in away at Crewe when a tap in would have done!

Paul Turnbull used to REALLY get on my tits! That's an odd one. He was never the greatest but I'm not sure he was a mercanary, unless I've missed something?

Ryan Fraughan, Sean McConville and John Miles.
Coincidentally the same number of legs as a Dung beetle.

But bad attitude and application as well as his oversized arse and gut negated that. The fact he hasnt done anything for about 5 years in the game is a shame, and a shining of example of what young pro's should steer clear of

Paul Turnbull used to REALLY get on my tits! That seems a strange one? Admittedly you're entitled to your opinion but he was thrown in at a very young age Never shyed away from my memory. Ok, he wasn't the greatest player in the world but always tried IMO including a MOTM performance at Wembley. I think I could reel off at least 10 players from the tip of my tongue that have got to be before him?!
