Guessing the EFL book the stadium at the start of every season. And that the small print has a big cancellation fee or something like that.

I suppose from a players point of view it may be the only time you get to play there, agree it will be rubbish empty but they can still say they got to Wembley. some games in recent years the ground has been nearly empty anyway. do neutrals go in number to these games anymore. years ago the old amateur cup had a sell out and large attendances. wembley has always been a ba----d to get to from most places and the novalty for the place has gone off. way things are going in the trophy through lack of real interest you could see a boston v kings lynn final where carrow road would be a far better option.

Looks like the Cobblers are going up. Two up at HT in the final which is being played at St James Park (Exeter version). Warby one of NINE on the bench.

4-0 up now. Quite the upset from what I can make out. Seems they scraped into the play offs by a point.

That will probably mean Warby is surplus to requirements.

If so I'd welcome him back, then he can help us to back to back promotions

Ainsworth has done an amazing job there on little resources. They got lucky with the points per game situation though.

So, Wycombe and City share the headlines today, for different reasons. Seems like a different lifetime but I remember a visit to Maine Rd to see Wycombe come away with three points in a League One game (or whatever that league was called then). I don't think the result even counted as an upset at the time. And no-one was up on charges of breaking fair play rules, unless there was an obscure one against having first team squads containing 50 players (all of them useless).

They went from 8th to 3rd due to PPG with one point separating all the teams. They got in having played one game less. They were in indifferent form before the season was curtailed, hence why they’d fallen to eighth. They were one of the winners of PPG thanks to that scenario. That’s notwithstanding the fact they’ve had a great season to be that high up at that point with their low budget. But luck got them into the play offs.
