The north remembers how bad labour ruined our once great nation. Thank god for boris! Pesky Labour destroying industrial northern towns and communities by shutting all the mines, steel mills, and shipyards, whilst making no attempts at regeneration. No wait, my mistake, that was the Tories. Did you forget Imposter? Labour caused the global banking crisis that led to collapse in 2008. /s

When the full Brexit catastrophe hits, Farage will have his work cut out to come up with a story that the news media will lap up to deflect from it all. Maybe he can crash his aeroplane again.

Like all zealots, it will be not enough of whatever I am obsessed by. In this case, it will be not enough Brexit. Not a pure enough Brexit. It will be remainers fault (of course) for ruining it by trying to stay too close to the EU and shackling our country. It will be remainers fault for not thinking positively enough and wanting it to fail.
If Brexit does go tits up, I guarantee you that the only people that won’t be getting the blame are the ones that voted/campaigned for it,

The north remembers how bad labour ruined our once great nation. Thank god for boris! Well, that's certainly an opinion.

Fiddling the figures on Covid deaths begins too. I’m still of the view that the excess deaths figure is the relevant one for an idea of the true picture, but doubt the methodology would have been changed if it were to give the opposite result... You're right about the excess deaths of course, but it was correct to make the change. It was a nonsense to count the way we were doing. We we are now at 7 consecutive weeks of deaths below the 5 year average. Covid related hospital admissions are down again from previous week. Coming out of lockdown going ok so far I think. Just as well as the contact tracing not as good as it should be.

A Levels now to be graded based on estimates, results to be reannounced on Thursday, so last week’s grades will be scrapped.
How many major f*ck ups and U turns can this government continue to make?
Boris though, eh? With his hair?! What a laugh.

For clarity, I think this is the right decision but what another sorry shambles it’s been to get to this point.

Let poor Boris enjoy his holiday, he's only had a couple this year, obviously not counting his country retreats when he missed those Cobra meetings.

Boris though, eh? With his hair?! What a laugh. The damage has already been done. Kids have been denied university places or taken 2nd or 3rd choices already. Not to mention those who had their marks inflated by the algorithm (see private school kids) will get to keep their higher grades. Tories gonna tory. Edit - to clarify the u-turn is the right choice. We should just never have got to this point.

The BBC article says "Monday's U-turn followed an outcry from students, teachers and some Tory MPs."
Well done some Tory MPs, I guess. So not the Shadow Education Minister then, or any other opposition who thought this was a farce? This government gets the credit even when it cocks up.
