At a funeral next week for a City fan. We leave the crematorium to the sound of the city song Blue Moon. As a County supporter of 65 years, I have realised that there is no popular County song I could use to confirm my allegiance when my time comes. Slightly morbid I know, but I am sure all concerned would be proud to hear a song, and say “ That’s County’s song” I can only suggest the overpopular ‘Sweet County Time” by Neil Diamond.

Without trying to sound too unsympathetic for your loss, but think blue moon is actually a Crewe song, which has been hijacked in the last 20 years or so by City. The lyrics are rubbish too IMO.
Our version of the sash/scarf is much better.

I'm pretty sure we have the most songs of any club?

I was banging this particular drum on Twitter recently without much success but I get misty eyed over "Streets Of Stockport." That smirking horror Nick Hancock poked fun at it but his opinion is worth roughly the same as any other Stoke-supporting Z-list has-been. Obviously people don't necessarily think of the tune as "County's song" but that was true of "Blue Moon" and City once.

Anyway, you can't hear 'Snoopy Vs The Red Baron' without thinking about the skies over Edgeley.

Said it hundreds of times but all of our songs could be greatly improved by slowing them down. We race through them so there’s no impact.

By the time they get to the end of the chorus of 'The Scarf', the Pop Side still has at least a line to go. That could just be because we're a bit slow, of course.

Might not be appropriate for Church but I've always enjoyed a rousing rendition of " Oh Nobby".

I’ve been to a friends funeral where The Scarf was belted out with gusto.
