He’s clarified on Twitter that he moved as his future here was unclear. Like the others on rolling deals, I think there’s an understanding that players can look elsewhere as can the club. Think it’s pretty amicable. Have the players on rolling deals been told it’s unlikely they will get offered new ones? Just seems odd that we committed to Palmer, Thomas and Hinchcliffe and also released a load but have this TBD group in the middle.

Just had a look at their website and the chairman was saying he doesn't know how they'll cope bringing players back from furlough with no income. I'm really not concerned about this though, no great loss. That was harsher than I intended, I actually wish him well.

I’d say the TBD group are those whom we’d aim to keep in normal circumstances, but where the uncertainty about football right now means we’re unable to do so, either because we think we’ll be able to get much better players once Wigan / Rochdale etc. are forced to release players due to the pandemic, or because we don’t think football will start any time soon, and don’t think these players are so irreplaceable that we need to commit lots of funds to them if the season isn’t going to start until (eg) January.

To be fair, If I was offered a rolling contract at my work and somebody else offered me a permanent full time deal I know what i would do.

That’s what I presumed too so if they’ve been told that then I expect so see them all go. In normal years they would have been on the retained press release as “Invited back to pre-season training”.

Assist and MOTM too, good to see he’s started well there.

I was sorry he left but good luck to him. Choice between Ozzy and Rooney I would take John. No brainer so Elliott knew that and moved on.

I wish him well. Thought Elliott had some quality moments last season - including an absolutely stunning goal, but don't really think he was consistent enough.
John Rooney is a definite upgrade and the type of player we need to challenge for promotion.

I noticed that Brentford's new ground also has a mixture of seat colours. Trend setters!
