So much for the 'no leaks anymore' I think we all know who it is.

Are leaks really a problem? The BBC has a gossip column every day full of potential PL transfers and they don't appear to scupper any moves.

Delighted to bring in Connor but no idea where Jim sees him playing - had played as an 8, 10, 9, 11 and a 7 in the last few years at Tranmere and Wrexham. Would be good to get Jim’s quotes alongside Simon’s as without being disrespectful they are far more insightful for the fans. Less impressed with a 32-year-old left back, not a bad signing but looks the weakest one since the takeover. I’m hoping we’ll have a young hungry left-back coming in to push him. Also, no mention of contract lengths in yesterday’s or today’s announcement which is strange - wonder weather Sam could give us more details? I'd have thought that Connor Jennings would essentially replace Lloyd in that LM/LW position. Regarding James, I wouldn't be surprised if there's another left back coming in and James is competition. Now Cowan has gone there's no cover at left back at all so they're going to need coverage there. I'd have thought Connor would be number 10 unless there's any truth in the recent Warby rumour.

Connor and James Jennings confirmed Good signings! At 32, I'm assuming James is here more for the short term goal of promotion next season Whereas I can see Connor being here for longer at 28 Looking forward to the next signings!

Very happy with this, both have played and been successful at a higher level.
The signing of Connor is a real statement of intent and James will further strengthen our defence alongside figures such as Palmer, Hogan and Keane.
Good stuff, I look forward to whoever is next to be announced.

Interesting. No JG quote on the COWS article, and no picture of Jim with the guys, either. Simon Wilson seems to be very much in charge of this side of things - JG's role seems to be very much Head Coach, doesn't it? Happy enough with this, but I hope we start to bring some younger players in soon. Assume Jim will still give the ok on all signings though?

Two of our five permanent signings since the takeover have already played for Jim and you add Lloyd as a loanee last year as well so I think it’s obvious they are working together and no one comes in without the manager okaying it.

They will of course be working together ,but as has happened at other clubs the director of football and the board all be it with the managers input make the decisions , its not as it maybe was pre-takeover a given that Jim is involved with business/executive matters .|His instruction will be no doubt to focus his activities on training and on players onfield strategies and freeing up his time to do this will hopefully be a major positive. It will by consequence put more pressure on him for results tahn he has previously had but he has had that before so should be used to it.

The question was is Jim still having a major say on who comes in and Wilson has already said they work on target lists together and then Wilson goes and does the deals.

Believe me, it is JG who focuses on who to bring in. The DoF does the rest. 8.0.2

I would imagine the way it works is Jim and Simon draw up a list of targets together while Simon does the leg work of signing the players up. Based on what both of them have said in interviews, and the known strength of Jim's character, I get the impression it is very much a healthy working relationship between the two.

I’ve just put this on Twitter mate, but James is on a one year deal and Connor a two year deal.
