Yeah, really good interview. We’re very lucky to have him.
Some interesting bits in there. The stuff around Osborne being his number one priority for tying to a deal but the board having different opinions. Some of the bits around the club’s priorities for the squad profile as well. Very different to how he’s worked previously.
He said himself the priority is to lead from the front from the off so there’s going to be a lot of pressure to get a fairly new team winning consistently.
He sounded really positive about the structures being brought in which is good.

What a star JG is. A very valid point that he has managed success with a lot less than Dave Jones or Danny Bergara. I hope he makes the thousand game mark!

The Osborne thing was very interesting, seems Jim wanted him and the board agreed with that but also only saw him perhaps as a back up/development player and wanted a more experienced and game ready option as first choice. Seems Jim was ok with that which certainly shows the JG of the last few years is a little more easy going than the Jim of old.

He's in my top 1. For his contribution as both player and manager, nobody comes close. You could argue that there are maybe a few more legendary players and for some he's not edged ahead of Sir Danny as a manager yet, but to be so high up the rankings in both categories surely makes him the ultimate County legend. Just out of interest, then how many games has Jim been involved with County, both as a player and a manager? Pretty sure it's coming up to 900 games, or maybe that landmark has gone? Either way, he has definitely been involved with most of the memorable times at County in the modern era, both as a player and manager, and is worthy of being placed number one. 1000 games coming up, I think. 8.0.2

So Jim has now managed 463 competitive first-team matches or 486 if you include Cheshire Senior Cup matches, surpassing his 480 appearances as a player. So 943 or 966 in total.
He's due to surpass Fred Stewart's near 110-year record of 509 competitive managerial games during the new season, wherever that takes place 👍

Needs to visit Alz barbers to get those eyebrows trimmed!!!!
Great interview. Very optimistic. But a realisation that we won't walk it.

Great interview. Very optimistic. But a realisation that we won't walk it. really agree with that. i,m optimistic but there will be times in the season where we will go on a little poor run. hope the majority will not lose patiance with the side once this happens. at times as a fanbase a lot are either up in the clouds or in deep depression with nothing much inbetween.
