Front 3 is more the point striker formation i think, its either a 1 up front or a 3 depending on how view the wide attackers It is. 1 up front defending, 3 when attacking with a number 10 able to make it 4 in the right situations.

There is going to be so many options in terms of personnel and formation. Bennett and Reid are good strikers at this levels but I just fancy there will be a Quigley or Tshimanga added.

Blimey,so many new players it's hard to keep up.I was hoping for a phone call myself but I'll have to accept that in my 60's my chance has probably gone.

I don't think we'll see an out-and-out goalscorer, Oswell was kind of an outlier for Gannon teams, and when he was nullified it neutered our whole attack. Gannon teams tend to have goals spread out amongst the attack and central midfield.

This isn’t just a Gannon team anymore and we could easily be playing with a front two or three so there is less emphasis on having a Liam Dickinson who can do everything.

Jim does typically play with a front three and I expect that to continue. Rowe - Dicko - Pilks T.Walker - Mulhern - Thomas Next season; C.Jennings - Bennett - ??

I think there will be input and ideas from Simon Wilson, but I think this is definitely a Gannon team - albeit with a different focus.
Connor Jennings has already played for Gannon and I know he's wanted players like John Rooney, Ritchie Bennett and Liam Hogan for some time.
The profile is a bit different as we are mainly signing players in the 28 to 32 age bracket, which is probably a response to Mark Stott wanting promotion this season.
Good to see a signing like Reid, who is a bit younger and seems to have pace and power. Definitely a Gannon signing!

We’ve played 3-4-1-2 plenty as well over the years and if you’ve listened to his interview last week or read the statement on the Reid he’s talked about three at the back and playing with two up front. He’s also says C Jennings may not play down the left. Tom Walker would be an excellent signing whatever formation we play as he can slot in on either wing as an attacking player or as a wing-back and also can play the 10 if needed.

I’m just saying he’s perhaps not had the luxury of having such a squad with so many quality attacking players as he will do when the squad is completed. I think we’ll have the players available to play 4-2-3-1, 4-4-2, 4-3-3, 3-4-3 or 3-4-1-2 and at this moment going off his interview with Chris last week I don’t think there is anything set in stone on how we will line up tactically. I think what we do know is that’s it’s going to be a team full of goals, strength, height, pace and power and I’m sure we’ll play some nice football as well.

Having strength in so many areas is a welcomed change.
It's going to cause one or two opposition managers a headache trying to prepare for whatever formation we may go with. That's before you even get on to which players he'll be up against. We'll be very close to having a bench completely made up of players of equal ability to those in the first 11. Don't think we'll see too many games this coming season where we've got academy players boosting the number of subs.
