Just having a gander at Google maps satellite view and it looks like the imagery is fairly recent. Wasn't aware the Cheadle End roof advert had been changed, but also that a roof advert has been added to the Vernon Stand roof

I thought the Shoretel advert had been there for a while? Keeps the rain out!! yep. the company doesn't even exist anymore having been acquired a few years back and the new owners (Mitel) phased the name out.

Wasn't aware the Cheadle End roof advert had been changed, but also that a roof advert has been added to the Vernon Stand roof I just had a look at the Bing maps version of the same view. It is dated 2020, but treat that with some caution, as when I scrolled across past the station, it showed recently completed new office building there clearly in the state of construction it had about this time last year. So at least 12 months out of date.
The Booth Street site behind the Railway end is now being developed by Stockport Homes, although nothing of this features yet on the Bing view.
But the bowling green does, and looks scarcely different from its unkempt appearance on the Google view. (I realise the 2 views may well have the same source, albeit on different dates).
So, Question 1: is the bowling green/club still actually functioning? Question 2: is the bungalow Labour club still actually functioning?
The answer to those questions (surely someone could get visual evidence!) is the key IMHO to when any redevelopment of the Railway end would start, and how extensive it might be.

Shirley people would find planning docs on the SMBC website long before any activity took place

Shirley would hope so! But planning applications can take quite a time to progress... And so that doesn't really answer the 2 questions asked. I'd go and poke around the sites in question myself, if it weren't for the fact I live 250 miles from EP, so simply getting there is a problem.

I didn't say *when* the advert had been added 😂
Ever wished you could delete an entire thread?

Hope they flatten the bungalow and the bowling green behind it so we have more room for a nice bigger stand.
Was hoping we might’ve seen some early movement occurring there already tbh given the owners thing. On the train going past it looks like something right behind the railway fence has been cleared but might just be for the Stockport Homes development.
The plans for that were definitely updated minus extra buildings that were far too close to the ground.

The plans for that were definitely updated minus extra buildings that were far too close to the ground. The bowling green is located almost exactly behind the full width of the penalty area, with a steep bank behind the Railway end fence leading down to it, covered in scrubby trees and bushes. And both that area and the bungalow are definitely shown on plans as being outside the boundary of the Stockport Homes site.
So if that is the area that has been cleared, or is even just lying derelict, something may well be imminent.
Really need to look over the fence and get a pic... when I first went to EP in the mid 1960s, getting under/over the old fence on matchdays was a local sport!

Back in the day you had to scramble down (and back up) that bank to use the toilet (Otherwise known as some guttering bolted onto a upright piece of corrugated steel. And IIRC the tea hut used to teeter over it on a bit of a wooden support. Those were the days .....
