Neil Edwards was 5 foot 8. Or at at least his song said so Indeed and maybe the exception that proves the rule. Also though don’t forget that as much as he was revered at County he was one of the first to be replaced when the club got the type of funding to allow it to kick on.

Under 6ft for a keeped is way too small, Neil Edwards was great but Paul Jones took us to another level.

I don't like small goalkeepers. I don't like tall wingers though either. I discriminate against everyone in my sizeist views.

Possible backup keeper. Josh Barnes a young keeper recently released by Derby County. Not ITK at all, just based on the fact that he's liked a couple of Jim's recent tweets and he looks a bit like the keeper in the background of one of the recent training pictures. Good detective work Phil. Jim has said that we have a couple of young keepers training with us. I could be miles off, it's just a mildly amusing game to play between announcements.

I’d have said Hennessey, who is 6ft 6, but just seen Forster is 6ft 7. We’ve not had taller than him have we?

Under 6ft for a keeped is way too small, Neil Edwards was great but Paul Jones took us to another level. thats why ian ormson never really made it. my preference would be for an experianced keeper who would combine his playing as a full time goalkeeping coach. never excited about young keepers down at our level especially those who have been loaned to us in non league.

Jim’s record of loan keepers is exceptional though. Hennessey, Logan, Forster, Lewis, Henderson. Then he signed Fon Williams and Hinchliffe. He’s always started with a really strong number 1. It’s the others managers we’ve had in charge who have signed duff keepers. Even O’Hara who had a nightmare for us has gone on to become a good league keeper.

Correct me if I am wrong but didn’t Jim sign John Ruddy on loan from Everton, and he has had a pretty decent career. He had two loan spells with us, 2006 and 2008, and played once for England. Was the Norwich no 1 now at Wolves I believe?

The problem with loanees from higher up is their clubs expect them to play, I'd like to see us sign a good young keeper to challenge Ben but I'm hoping Ben's first choice for the next couple of years.

I also know that John’s career as the England no 1 was blighted by injury sustained after his debut. Would be welcomed as a Gk coach when his playing career is over where ever he goes.

Moving on from keepers,Joe Bunney's been released by Bolton, he's played league football ever since leaving us and he's still only 26, he's a local lad (Gorton) not a rumour but a possible.

Seem to remember him on twitter being delighted that he had made the right decision to leave us just before we got relegated.
