I wonder if the club regret signing up so many players already? Even with our new found wealth it's a long time to be paying wages with no income. Obviously we have the advantage of more time to train/bond before the season starts, but I can imagine the players are going to be bored shitless of the longest pre-season in history. I wouldn't be surprised to see upcoming transfers put on hold for the time being. I guess it was always going to be a gamble when to sign players for the forthcoming season. Very strange times indeed, and god knows how clubs try and generate some income via Season Ticket sales, with no clues on when fans are allowed back into the grounds(not just at our level, where we dont fill our stadium, but at the top of the tree where they sell out most weeks)... it's a difficult one to call, and glad I ain't making the decisions. Hindsight will be a wonderful thing once this is all over.

I assume that no away fans will be allowed to start with. It doesn't make sense encouraging more people than necessary to travel between regions and it would at least allow for a few more fans at home games. I hope some sort of arrangement is put in place to stream all of the games next season. It would at least give us something to look forward to and could provide some vital income for clubs that may well keep a few afloat. As you say, strange times and so many unknowns to deal with.

I would love a streaming service from a greedy exile perspective.

Starting the season two months later but only finishing a month later is going to mean a lot of congestion to an already packed schedule. Hopefully the authorities decide to do without the smaller cup competitions like the FA Trophy, League Cup and Autoglass for a year to reduce congestion. Not sure if they will though! At the absolute least replays for Trophy games ahve got to stop. They should be settled on the day anyway but with a congested shorter season it'd be madness to keep them. They should bin it off altogether for next season. The FA is broke anyway, so the prize fund is shrinking as it is, meaning a lot of clubs will lose money on hosting the games. Assuming the Trophy goes ahead, I make that a minimum of 48 matches per club in the National League, in 239 days. That’s more than a game every five days, and that’s without any postponements. A minimum of 3 per fortnight. Madness. I suspect moving away from part time football has been very timely for us.

As a non season ticket holder, I’ve got pretty much no chance of getting a ticket home or away . I’m glad the football’s coming back and hopefully there will be a streaming service to allow everyone to view the games (which id be more then happy to pay for) It will just be very odd....seats between fans and all that 🙄 Any plans to buy a season ticket? I don't have one but am planning to get one this season (had planned to get one before this kicked off). 8.0.3

It’s quite right those who give the club a chunk of money up front get priority and there’s nothing else that can be done.really, filling EP hasn’t been a problem for years!

I can’t see away fans being allowed in at all next season. Defo not at the beginning in October and then we can expect the second wave in Jan/Feb. That will rule it out for several more months After that and the season will be over. Might be difficult to see away fans before a vaccine/cure.

They will surely monetise streaming to do some kind of pay per view system.
Makes absolutely no sense to leave paying customers out in the dark during these times.
Removes the risk and allows clubs to make money. Although BT Sport would have to be compensated or something worked out whereby streaming uses their platforms somehow.

Agree Stocky - will deter peeps from travelling on the off chance of getting in also.

That seems a long way off, isn't the FL starting in September? So the football league with bigger crowds gets to start first, that makes no sense at all.

What’s the difference between September and October? The virus will still be around with no vaccine so we have to learn to live with it. And what happens if there is a spike in January for example? October leaves little or no wiggle room if there is to be another, hopefully, limited lockdown. I really can’t see numbers of infections being lower in October than September, unless I’m missing something, there is no logic to this decision.

46 league fixtures will be scheduled in the National Division, and either 42 or 40 league fixtures will be scheduled in the North and South Divisions
Lifted from the national league statment
They cant even tell us how many teams are going to be in North or south..what did I miss?

i for one am getting really confused by now. firstly we are given september 12th now its october. no mention of cup competitions which i imagine will go ahead as per usual. many clubs will lose money on reduced capacity grounds plus even more money with more midweek games even if things did get back to normal. no away fans, right. if alty get promoted and their tickets go on open sale at their ground how many of us will join the queue to get one for our away fixture there. how many of us will register on our rivels ticket sale website to obtain an away ticket. can see lots of neutral fans around next season at grounds.

I think your correct, everyone has their own agender and that's not a bad thing .be it tickets to home games going to away games the league will have a view, the clubs will have a take on things the traveling fans clubs will want answers (Fingerpost ect) Its going to be mess and as a poster wrote, this year we will probably draw Liverpool, city or united or (Burnley) in the 3rd round of the FA cup O man
