I am very much not ITK but certainly wasn't a name bandied about.

This is interesting. I knew Wrexham were in it recently but didn’t know what it was based on.

This is interesting. I knew Wrexham were in it recently but didn’t know what it was based on. Not sure I'd ever like County to be in that competition. An outstanding example of sponsorship in relation to Scottish football, the winners' prize is a year's supply of Caramel Wafers for the entire team. Not good for fitness levels, I'd have thought.
Although I have to confess to eating one myself occasionally...

The Tunnocks tea cake cup.......winner gets a years supply of Irn-bru. From reading Wrexham's forum casually from time to time, most of them derided it until they drew Rangers away then their interest suddenly peaked! Personally i'd have more interest in this than the F.A. Trophy, don't think we'll ever qualify for it though what with us going up as champions this season

Why do we keep talking about Tunde Owalabi? FC United play in the Northern Premier League (tier 7)
The player we should be looking at is Kabongo Tshimanga, who is prolific in the National League. He was absolutely awesome against us and his pace terrorises defences.

Red, it would be a fantastic signing of intent if it were to happen but if the lad scores for fun in our league, then it is possible he would be attracted to try his luck in the fourth tier. There are not many pacy strikers at this level, but signing a prolific youngster for our development squad may be an idea, like Curran for the future or find a striker renowned for scoring in divisions above or same as us, like Paddy Madden, Andy Cook or Kristian Dennis. At present we know, Thomas, Rooney, Bennett, Reid, Bell, Jennings and Stephenson are all capable to get into double figures and I am happy they can, but Jim stated that Simon was negotiating with a young pacy goalscorer, so you may be right with KT but if it was TO, then our plans may have to change. I feel we still need a goalkeeper, right back, right winger and a attacking midfielder, to challenge those unopposed in our current squad.

County Blue, the feeling that I have with Mark Stott is that he's looking for success next season and we can see that in the quality of the signings we've been making. I think the days of signing prospects like Curran are behind us, but I may well be wrong?
I'm no where near as confident as you that Bell or Stephenson will achieve double figures. Darren has had two very bad injuries, I think we're giving him a chance to get back to fitness with a short contract. Nyal Bell is in the last chance salon for me, and he's really lucky to get a contract. Thomas works his socks off, gets up and down the wing, but he can't beat his man and his crosses aren't really accurate enough, he might get 2 or 3 goals, but double figures? I'm sorry no chance.
I do think the new signings will deliver and Rooney, Bennett and Jennings all have a good track record. I haven't seen Reid, but he looks a good prospect and has played at a higher level than us.
I can't see the attraction of playing in front of 400 fans at Borehamwood. KT might be able to play in league 2 or higher, but he can go on that journey with us! I really do think that a pacy striker who can score 20+ a season would be a fantastic addition.
We certainly need a keeper to properly challenge Hinchliffe (not just a weak back up like we've had previously) and a strong right winger who can beat his man. Rooney will provide a lot of goals as an attacking midfielder, so am not sure if we'd get another?

I agree we need a pacy goalscorer but disagree Red, about midfield where you are not sure whether we’d get another.
Of last years midfield already Sam Walker, Paul Turnbull, Connor Dimaio, Elliott Osborne and Danny Lloyd have all left and so far we have replaced those five with only John Rooney. I know John is good but is he good enough to take on the part of four other guys and stay fit?
