Deffo came back as a guest and had a presentation on the pitch at half time, we also played Rotherham away on a midweek evening in his time as manager there

Perhaps someone can help me out here.... Did Danny ever come back after his sacking as a guest and was given a mic at HT to give a speech? I'm certain this happened and he said his only regret was not winning at Wembley for us. There was one occasion when Danny did return to Stockport that I remember very well. "An evening with Danny Bergara" It was organised by the HISC and held at the Britannia on Dialstone Lane. Unfortunately the attendance was very poor. It was a great evening with lots of stories and anecdotes from Danny whilst answering questions from the audience. One of the questions was regarding any regrets about his time at county - his answer was as you say above "not winning at Wembley" The man is a legend....

The man is a legend.... he certainly is and a proper legend as well. however if you talk to donny rovers fans he is at best viewed with amusement and more likely their version of bogie and young combined. he was with us just at the right time for us and him and his achievements cannot be diluted because of it.

Without wanting to shit-stir, I don't think he was focused enough to give his all at Rotherham or Doncaster because of the unsavoury mud-slinging and lying by Elwood and Jolley. 8.0.3
