His wealth doesn't make us that rich. His investment along with projected revenue and profitability are what will determine our value.

Yep, Mr Stott's wealth isn't our wealth. He's made his money through his business successes, & the majority of his money will be invested in his businesses

Yep, Mr Stott's wealth isn't our wealth. He's made his money through his business successes, & the majority of his money will be invested in his businesses yes, and there will be owners around with far more money than him putting far less into their clubs than him. the money has only put us back in being as competative as others with the possibility of a slight edge our fanbase deserves.

Speculate to accumulate...they know that a successful team will generate income via sponsorship, season tickets/increased attendances (if & when) & replica kit sales

There is a certain satisfaction in seeing your team develop, get plaudits from opposition and the media and see players arrive who would have previously gone elsewhere.
A former Premier League Manager once said to me that we shouldn't worry about selling our better players. We're all selling clubs just that the clubs with more money can hold onto the better players for a bit longer. If you unearth a gem and he does well he may go for a decent price but if you keep him for a couple of years until he becomes better know he goes for more money which allow you to bring a better replacement in and the cycle continues.
He also reckoned you have to create the right atmosphere so that players want to come and stay once they are settled. He reckoned that everyone has a role to play (and that includes the fans).

George Burley. Spoke to him quite often and a really top fella.
He'd gone through the Bobby Robson Management and learnt a lot from it. Nearly all the ex players we bumped into over the years we lived in Ipswich were similar. No big time charlie attitude and very complimentary about County.
