Bet the Alty forum is red hot, because they have real history with Macc

We'll show them the same amount of sympathy as they did to us...be interesting to see whether they can fulfill next season Exactly, f*ck 'em. This is their level anyway.

Better than a trek to Stevenage. Then again most likely won’t be able to go to it anyway.

If promotion / relegation between League 2 and the National was fairer their relegation would no be such a hammer blow.
Long term FL Clubs see relegation to the NL as the end of the world and if 4 up 4 down existed it would help deter clubs spending too much in a bid to avoid the drop. Within a couple of years it would be like League 1 to 2.

Can’t say I’ve much sympathy for Macc. Though it probably screws over Stevenage as they’ve now got to put a L2 team together.
Assuming we get to go to games, it’s a bit of a shitter for us too though. Even though we get a local away, I’m fairly sure Alty will play Macc rather than us at Christmas.

No strong feeling towards Macc either way but I can't bring myself to feel sorry for them. They enjoyed our demise, so did Bury for that matter. I won't even spare the energy to shrug my shoulders at this news.

Yeah, if Alty and Macc are in the same league they should get each other for the Christmas and New Year double header. It's a big tradition for those two. I'd be happy with Halifax again.

I'd be happy with TOrquay as long as we're allowed to attend I wonder if clubs can ask the fixtures people to put these local derbies toward the end of the season

Is it guaranteed they'll be accepted into the National? Yes. They haven’t gone bust (yet)... just relegated on points. There seems to be some consensus on non league FB pages that there's a very real chance they'll go into admin. The League has history of this. When Boston came down in 2007, they went into admin and were put in the NLN. I hate to bring up this spectre but if that happened to Macc, would Fylde get off the hook?

After the chairman resigned last week, looks like he knew what was coming. Feel sorry for the fans, as always it'll be them left to suffer. The FL's new rules wouldn't have done anything to help either, there's nothing in there about proof of funds or pre-approving business plans. Nothing short of licencing will force clubs to keep their houses in order It’s tough on the fans (or those who didn’t celebrate our demise anyway) but when a club has an owner who wants out and any prospective new owner may not meet the fit and proper persons test the league/FA are in a tough spot. Stop the new guy from coming in but leave the club with an owner wanting to get out. Shows how fortunate we were that Park and Co were willing to maintain us at a basic level until what appears to be a very positive new owner came along, and just in time too !

No i'd imagine they might promote the losing finalists, or just operate one short for a season, but Fylde finished second bottom didn't they, so they'd have no chance of being reinstated
