Roofing isn't my forte but I would strongly recommend an Edgeley company, Xpert Roofing Solutions. It's a family firm, Ian is the head lad on 07778-794322. I've used them twice and they've been excellent. Ian takes photo's of the problems, explains them in layman's terms and does a first class job of fixing them.

Yes, can also recommend Xpert Roofing Solutions - they have done some work at both mine and my dads house.

Have changed this slightly so we’ve got a sticky to recommend local businesses.
It’s not a place to hammer your own place but a good way of getting local recommendations more visible.

Depends on the kind of job you are after.....I have a number of 2 lads with a large Merc Van who moved all our stuff to the new house for 500 quid all in, would I trust them with anything delicate -nope but they are strong as oxes and can shift all the heavy stuff with ease, I offered the younger lad the use of my wheeled trolley for the washing machine...he carried it by himself 😯

In the run up to Xmas during these shite times, then is there any businesses that also support County and need our support? I'm thinking of atedaysaweek and also the Italian in Romiley who are both offering delivery service... both support County and offer decent food.
I know that buying from independent places often costs more, but they are usually a better quality product and they have struggled more than ever this year... I would urge anyone who can afford it to buy local this Xmas, and support local businesses in Stockport, especially those that also support County.

Feed your friends and family, give a gift, and support a local business. Win win win!

I'm struggling to get someone to come and do some shelving, fitted cupboards, display cabinet etc. Our last guy was superb but he's shut up shop unfortunately. Would need to be a decent joiner/cabinet maker who's going to be able to come up with CAD designs and have some examples of work. I know lead in times are quite long for this stuff at the moment so happy to wait till new year/spring for the right person. Job is in Radcliffe (as per the username).
DMs with recommendations appreciated.

Had someone lined up for it but seems impossible to tie someone down to a date.

Two things, first a recommendation: I've just had a new shed delivered by Country Fencing who are based on the Chadkirk Industrial Estate. A family firm, they aren't very prominent on the web but their stuff is absolutely first class. www.chadkirkmill.co.uk/index.php?page=Country-FencingFollowing on from that, I'm looking for someone to get power from the house to the shed. It's going to involve connecting with existing house supply, digging a trough in a concrete path to get the cable down to the shed and installing a couple of power points, an LED "fluorescent" tube and a distribution board in the shed itself. All on a "supply and fit" basis. I'm looking for someone properly qualified, of course. The house is in Hazel Grove, SK7 5AN.
