Any plumbers on here with experience of working with instant hot water taps for the kitchen ? Did you find anyone? had one in the last house and really miss it when cooking. No. We already have one but it has a continual slow leak underneath the kitchen cupboard (slow enough to only need a medium bowl to catch it and empty once a week or so), a few plumbers have had a look at it and struggling to fix it. Seems it may be sealed unit thin but they are expensive to just replace.

Many thanks to everyone that sponsored me for the Yorkshire Three Peaks. I've raised £645 for Alzheimers 🙂 The walk was definitely tougher than anything I've ever done, including all the half marathons, the third peak (Pen y Gwent was particularly difficult)! The fundraiser at Alzheimers said that our group of 350 had raised £155k and she expects this to be around £250k by the time we've finished! A great effort to help prevent this horrible disease.

Well done to you for raising awareness of Alzheimers and raising funds to try and help prevent it. Obviously preparation is the key to taking on such a challenge, so how do you know what footwear to wear, or how much food/drink to take with you?

Many thanks to Bredbury Hatter, Normandy and A County Fan for your sponsorship?
I was wearing hiking boots, but they were really digging into my leg about 12 miles in, so changed into running trainers. A bit of a risk, because you can easily twist your ankle, but had no choice!
The Three Peaks is an organised walk, so Alzheimers had about 3 refreshment tents dotted around the course.

Anyone on here an Odd Job Man/Woman?
I have a number of things need doing and would rather pay a County Fan.
Clearing out gutters, cleaning soffits, Weeding and Steam Cleaning the drives and patio, removing some gates, replacing some other gates and fixing I a few loose patio stones.
Will pay cash, PayPal or Direct Bank Transfer and can pick you up if you're struggling for transport
Thanks
David

Morning all I'm sure we've all experienced cancer, either directly or indirectly in our lives. It's something that affects hundreds of thousands of families each year in the UK. Macmillan Cancer Support offers physical, financial and emotional support to those suffering from cancer and their families to help them through it. I usually get involved with the usual workplace fundraising, like the coffee mornings and whatever else but obviously COVID's scuppered most/all opportunities to do that for the last couple of years. With that in mind, on 3 November 2021, I’m going to be taking part in a 24 hour gaming marathon to raise money for Macmillan. I'm stunned I've actually managed to get my missus to agree to me sitting on my arse for 24 hours solid playing computer games, although I'm sure she appreciates that it's for a good cause this time, unlike all the other hours I usually spend doing it. I’ll be starting at 16:00 and gaming straight through until 16:00 the following day. I’d really appreciate if you could sponsor me and help raise money for Macmillan and the fantastic work they do. Go to the following link to donate: gameheroes.macmillan.org.uk/fundraising/nsseennAnd if you really want to (which you almost certainly won't want to), you can even watch me gaming on 3/4 November via my Twitch account which can be found on the Macmillan fundraising page above or at the following link (which appears to have embedded the video player!): Cheers!

A few people have asked me about N:GL Manchester over the past few weeks and I haven't really been able to give an update as we were sorting the legals out on our New Centres...
But we are all signed up now so...
First of all thank very much for the kind words, good wishes and contributions made by County Fans over the past year or so, it has made a huge difference to the lives of some extremely vulnerable young people and given paid work experience and permanent employment to many as a result.
We had a nightmare with Stockport MBC and I don't think it will help anyone by dragging all that up again but it has proven to be a blessing in disguise with a number of individuals, groups and companies coming forward to help us reestablish and we are, without doubt, much stronger organisation as a result.
We open in Stretford Mall next week, with a new MMA/Boxing/Fitness Centre. Music Studio, Cafe and an Upcycling Centre; Bruntwood have been extremely supportive and all that stemmed from a phone call to me from a County Fan who works there (and remembers delivering leaflets in the snow for me when we were heading for Liquidation back in 2009!) so if you have ever wondered whether this Thread has a place on this particular Messageboard... take it from me, it does!
I will post some photos of the refurb taking shape (the kids we support are doing much of the work themselves) and we are very grateful to Wickes for supplying Paint, Brushes, Rollers etc
If anyone would like to find out more about what we do, offer help/skills/resources/finances... we are here!
In terms of Stockport, we have been included in the Community Benefit aspect of the Transport Hub, I don't really understand all that but we will have a new building of our own by the end of it and again the response from local and main contractors has been tremendous.

It is a perfect spot for us, there's tons of money pouring in to the areas surrounding Stretford and it is benefitting from it. We are putting a centre in each of the 10 Cities/Boroughs of the Combined Authority of Greater Manchester and it's very exciting, and very daunting!

David Delighted to report another offer of assistance, this time from John, County Fan and Store Manager at Topps Tiles in Cheadle who has agreed to supply Tiles/Grout/Borders for the kitchen at Stretford... Fantastic support, and the kids themselves will fit them (under the supervision of a Tiler) which gives them paid work experience and and a sense of pride knowing that they created something of great value to the whole community (but mostly the £'s ) Cheers John
