Didn't know where to stick this but probably the best place with it being recently commented on but I'm feeling very fed up with the club/season already and we're only 7 games in.
I swerved Saturday as had something on in the evening but could have easily driven back in time but it just didn't seem worth the hassle after getting knobbed the week before and I'm glad I did! Slightly hypocritical as I wasn't there but the fact we only took 900 there suggests a few are in a similar boat. The midweek win nearly changed my mind but even that didn't do enough to make me want to head over.
The whole club just feels very 'Un-County' at the minute and has done for a little while IMO. Stott has made some impressive changes since arriving here last Feb. I was aware of his interest a while before it became public knowledge and was really excited about the future and that he would carry on the good work that the previous owners had managed to do. I'm still grateful for all the money, ideas and work he has done but equally with that has come some very disappointing decisions along the way.
I'm all for professionalism, we are a well supported club and should be well but we seem to have so many members of staff flitting round in suits like its a Saturday night in Alderley Edge and although I haven't had any dealings with myself, have heard very mixed reviews. If you look up to the new suite now above the Main Stand pie hut the new lounge looks littered with fancy dressed people who don't look arsed at all about the fact County are playing, granted the performances have been poor but the last home game people were just stood in there watching NFL on the tele - this isn't County.
I also feel the club were too hasty in getting rid of previous members of staff. I won't name names or even claim to know the ins & outs but there were good, honest County people within the club and I genuinely feel there would be most positivity around the place should these recognisable faces we all knew were still there.
On a personal level, I felt very disappointed with how the Commercial team failed to notify our group re the shirt sponsorship when the season was curtailed. We chased the shirt for weeks which was eventually posted out & we were also promised 2 tickets for a future end of season awards dinner in-lieu of the evening which was cancelled due to Covid. I was willing to give them benefit of the doubt due to staff being new to the role but we're probably 12 months on and still heard nothing - I guess we've just written that off now. I am also told previous sponsors haven't been treated particularly well as though the club were looking for new, fancier, type of clientelle, I could well be wrong but its just a hunch I get. It would seem we haven't even had a match ball sponsor in a couple of games!
As for the army of Coaching Staff and turn over of players, as people have said on here, it doesn't sit very well with me to be honest. If results were going our way I guess none of us question it but the fact that they are not makes me wonder why 1) We have so many and 2) What are they doing collectively to help Rusk and also to give the paying fans some decent football to watch after investing so heavily in to talented players who should doing much better than they are.
Rome wasn't built in a day & I don't expect them to get everything right but I also think the club have also shot themselves in the foot on a couple of occasions and not helped themselves. We all want the same and to see a team playing well that look like they want to play with each other. At the moment I'd say the Conf North champions team would beat this current lot which is not good, especially if you compared the wage bills.
Fingers crossed EP will be a positive atmosphere on Saturday and we get off to a good start and turn them over. We need to see good things on & off the pitch and I hope that'll happen sooner rather than later.
