Let's not get too carried away about Sunday just yet, anything less than a win tomorrow and it's not quite the big game we all hope it will be. Let's get through tomorrow night with three points. Then we can start planning the fireworks and fire alarms for their hotel 😬 And there is the Sutton angle to it. They could be on 81 points before we kick off against Torquay.

I think Dagenham tonight looked a far better side than Torquay did on Saturday. I’ll say County 2-1 - hopefully I’m right this time!!!n

Hopefully stay in top 3 now and best case avoid any injuries. Just hope Paddy is ok after coming off at HT. PM will be massive in the playoffs.

We can guarantee third with two wins and a draw regardless of other results. If Hartlepool drop points, then we have more leeway. Since Hartlepool have yet to play away at Sutton that seems likely.
A draw against Torquay would be still be OK but it would be good to get the win and take the pressure off.

cannot see us getting anything but a point out of this. they actually are more desperate for a win than we are now. could that be in our favour with the game being played more like an away match.

Yes absolutely. A very good point, Torquay will certainly be more desperate for the win now. This should hopefully open the game up and if anything maybe ever so slightly lessens the pressure on us. Perhaps less anxious and more freedom to go out and play.

I think that will work in our favour. The pressure is off us again and I think that will help our performance

Its frustratingly ironic for me personally that Torquay's best and most important player for them has been Adam Randell who is on loan from Argyle!! Hes been pulling the strings for them and has a huge future ahead of him with us and is very much in our first team plans next year. I just hope he doesnt come to scupper my second team County!!! Just have a few days off Rands!!

Forget about the title now, but we still need to be winning this one, or we're going to find ourselves in a battle for the top three. Dropping out of that now would be real pisser, after spending so long getting in there.

Just have a few days off Rands!! Interesting. I've noticed that a few of the top teams have key loan signings. Hartlepool spring to mind with Armstrong from Salford and Cass from Newcastle. On one hand, you could say we've under utilised the loan market for young, developing players from the leagues above us as the only loans we have fill in gaps in the squad (to me). Walker (for the injured Kitching and we now have Rydel), Newby (lost CJ and now permanent) and Cardwell (after Bennett and Bell were seen as not good enough to start regularly). I expect we could make the 2 outstanding loans permanent if we wanted to too. Obviously shrewd loan signings are a massive plus, but there is a negative when they eventually leave and you have to replace them. Bennett at Hartlepool and Walker & Rodney for us last season seem to be good examples. Then the new guy has to settle in and you're never quite sure what you've got until after a few games. Whatever league we end up in, I think we're well set to hit the ground running with minimal additions to the squad (unlike this season). Maybe a left-sided CB (JJ will be 34), Maynard replacement with lots of energy and Cardwell or better, plus any real, unmissable quality players that come along.

Stretton was our outstanding loan singing - we managed to get the the Madden deal over the line at a similar time and Reidy came back into form so we haven’t missed him as such but was obvious in his short spell that he was a bloody good player.

Agreed and another good example. We only had him for a month and tried and missed with Britton and Dalby before that.
