The club is clearly going to lose money on this with all the admin, but the owners have been very good with the fans, as a season ticket holder I can’t wait, feels symbolic just to be there and I can’t wait to see Rooney, Reid, Madden et al, in the flesh.

It’s never been mooted by the club in any updates has it...? Think that’s just been speculation on here based on the loose guidance from the government. The club said they were hoping for 4000 in their last update. It's not like anyone's going to be kicking off, it'd just be nice to know why that 4000 has dropped, as the government advice confirmed 4000 or 50%. Its a maximum of 4000 or 50%, but won't just include seats. Will take into account access/exit, stairwells, concourse, etc.

Like I say, it'd just be nice to know the number is less from the club as part of their update.

I would imagine season ticket holders and sponsors who have contributed all season, staff, players ect ect ect will all eat into the number allocated but it would be nice to know how many we were allocated in the first place

If you think about how spread out the players are on matchday - they're not in the dug out. And they're in a bubble as well I think so will probably have space around them.

Given the reduced numbers, I assume ST holders will be using the temporary seats that were originally allocated before Christmas. Be a change to watch from the pop side - not been there since the 1980's!

No lateral flow test required? Was never going to happen. Was never at any point in the proposed guidance and they’re pointless anyway.

So only allowed 1900 to attend? Thought it was more. I've been told 2500. Wouldn’t surprise me if the difference was sponsors and Corp.. plus Stott’s mates/family

Wouldn’t surprise me if the difference was sponsors and Corp.. plus Stott’s mates/family it was never going to be 4,000 for a start with all the box ticking the club had to do regarding entry and exit for a start. there is no way in or out of EP without being on hardcastle road. something the club should be looking at in any future EP redevelopment. if we had entry exits on all 4 sides then we may have got the maximum government figure in. there will be quite a number of tickets that do go to friends of friends etc and those ITK. always has been and always will. what the official attendance will be will be certainly interesting. if it pisses down and i have an early entry to sit in my RE seat i for one will give it a swerve if that happens. warm and dry watching the live stream looks a better prospect.

Yeah but as I said earlier, the club will have known all of that regarding the entry/exit points when they said they were hoping to welcome back 4000.

The club is clearly going to lose money on this with all the admin, plus extra stewards inside and outside the ground. wonder if there will be an extra plod presence also to make sure we follow all the regs and behave ourselves just doing the stuff we always have done inside EP. even going for a piss is not going to be straight forward.

Yeah but as I said earlier, the club will have known all of that regarding the entry/exit points when they said they were hoping to welcome back 4000. agree, but they might have been living in hope of some relaxation. anyway they would have been just better not mentioning any figure until it was 100 per cent sure that they could deliver it. building peoples hopes up to dash em quickly is not a way to get fans onside.

You're right, although I do still think the question would remain, as people would be wondering why it wasn't the full 4000 that the Government confirmed was the limit. Like I said earlier in the thread, I don't think anyone would be up-in-arms about whatever the explanation would be, it'd just be better than no explanation.

EP’s current full capacity, which takes in to account entrances and exits for fire safety and other things already, and not just seating, is 10,841. We’ve also seen recently that the capacity for on-pitch events is 19,000. It seems strange to me that despite this, we aren’t allowed the 4000 mentioned in the government guidelines. I don’t think it’s anything to do with only being able to exit onto Hardcastle Road.
