You're right, although I do still think the question would remain, as people would be wondering why it wasn't the full 4000 that the Government confirmed was the limit. Like I said earlier in the thread, I don't think anyone would be up-in-arms about whatever the explanation would be, it'd just be better than no explanation. EP’s current full capacity, which takes in to account entrances and exits for fire safety and other things already, and not just seating, is 10,841. We’ve also seen recently that the capacity for on-pitch events is 19,000. It seems strange to me that despite this, we aren’t allowed the 4000 mentioned in the government guidelines. I don’t think it’s anything to do with only being able to exit onto Hardcastle Road. t A capacity for on pitch events is not really relevant at this time and the current restriction will almost certainly be linked to exiting through and into confined spaces. People may well be happy to attend the game via staggered arrival times but I’m far less confident they will be as happy to leave in a staggered/managed way and therein lies one of the main issues.

Again though, the club will have known that when they the hope for 4000, so I think that gives more weight to your earlier thought about it being a local authority decision. Somewhere in between the club's hope of 4000 and the Government's guidance of 4000, something has changed.

I agree, what I’m saying here though is that the exit process will have been part of their decision making.

4,000 or the new maximum attendance figure is about the health of fans and who they will be in contact with after the game. with the pesent number of cases around i,d love to know what difference or any it will make to the health of the area regarding the virus. there has been plenty of demonstrations over the last few months with close proximity to others on a longer period of time than a football match. if there had been an extra number of covid cases amoung these people or who they have come in contact with later the media would have been all over it especially the BBC. i for one have heard nothing. we can see reasons for this softy softly approach but also there are reasons we should have been back for a month now.

First time back at EP in 15 months, if I manage to get a ticket I fully intend to leave in a staggered way 🥴

I think a major factor will probably be the geography around EP, whereas most grounds you can approach from all four sides, here all public access is via Hardcastle Road and that will present a big logistical problem when you want to organise controlled queues

Fans in the Railway End and Pop Side can leave via the gate in the corner of the RE, the steps/path lead towards the roundabout near The Armoury. For what it's worth, the Cheadle End could leave via the car park and down Mahood Street and the DB Stand via Worrall Street. Just a suggestion, I'm sure they have it all worked out. The 'Return of Fans' pack we're supposed to get through the post will be an interesting read. 8.7.3

Knowing what we know about transmission outdoors and the vaccination rates of those in significant danger, the concern over queuing and entrance and exit from an outdoor football stadium are overblown, IMO. If a staged return with an overly cautious approach is what is necessary to get to full normality next season then fine, but it is difficult to justify on its own terms, currently. Having said that, it’s one game, after all we’ve been through, so I’m not going to throw any toys out of the pram over it.

The only other thing I hope is that everyone at the game follows the guidelines. Hopefully no idiots try to sit with their mates or cause issues.
Otherwise it could affect the numbers allowed in for any play off games.

Can see lots of unhappy people. How do they know all season ticket holders will attend? i see one "fan" has said if he gets a ticket in the lottery for the Railway End and its raining,he wont go! Will season ticket holders get priority for any playoff games. The way we have been ripped off,we should get them for free. Price paid per game.£18."Free streaming 7.99.Home games on tv,pay for a game already paid for!

Up to now the club have been very fair to season ticket holders in giving them the cup games free of charge - hopefully this continues or they at least get priority. There are a few anomolies but the club can't really win in a situation like this with tickets so scarce and excess demand. I'm in a support bubble with my Dad and can go and have a meal in his house but because we have different addresses, I am sat several rows further forward on the season ticket contingency plan seating. With hindsight I should probably have had my tickets sent to my parent's house.

I’m a season ticket holder and I think the club have been first class, they contacted me and gave me the option to refund. I weighed it up and thought, given this time of crisis and County making substantial losses to get us back where we want to be, I’d support the club and take a financial hit. I’m sure ST holders will get first option on any play off games. Mark Stott has put so much in to the club, he deserves support., I definitely haven’t been ripped off.
