Hope they move that tower away from the viaduct. I’m all for improvements and round there needs it. But you don’t cover a famous landmark. There’s no view from down there at the moment. You’ve just got the ugly bus depot next to the mill. So I’d say what’s planned is an improvement on that!

The new bus station and garden thing on the top plus the open river will be good. But the plans for this new build (which will be great) has the tallest tower right on and covering the viaduct up which seems daft.
Next thing is whoever is in charge of the viaduct (Railways) to weed it and clean it up, I was a child last time it was done.

In similar vein, one of the worst buildings in Stockport is Regent House - it's far worse than Redrock, which gets all the whinging. How many thousands of people heading from London to Manchester every day go over the viaduct and look east out of their window at what should be a great view, especially on a nice day, of the town centre valley, with the Pennies/Peaks in the background, only to see a massive white featureless building totally block the view? Talking of ugly buildings I was in the V&A Marriott in Manchester last night and the road it’s on (Water Street) that used to be an open road down towards Regent Way is now straddled with some huge grey monstrosity that blocks access down the road (seems you may be able to drive underneath it once complete). It would leave anyone who thinks Redrock an eyesore completely aghast, think St Christopher House without any windows !

I drove past Redrock yesterday for the first time in ages, I actually like it.

I like redrock. Not sure how else a cinema complex with restaurants could look! Great addition to town. Cinema especially

The cinema are taking another unit aren’t they, will become a small bowling alley. Unfortunately the demise of a lot of restaurants/chains has meant some of the others have remained empty. GBK confirmed they were opening just before their business hit the rocks. Wouldn’t mind a Wagamama opening there.

Any improvement to public transport links is to be welcomed. Bringing the metro in from Ashton and linking up to Didders is a great idea.

I see the bus station's gone, what was on that site before it was built?

I see the bus station's gone, what was on that site before it was built? It was a roughly laid out car park for many years.
