Another win and an improved performance please.
Should be good with a proper away following.
Chunky Chickens all round pre-match too. Perfect.

I know nothing about their team other than Luke Waterfall is a cracking centre half, he's 31 now but that's not old these days, I've had a look n their website and a couple of days ago they'd sold 850 tickets and expect to sell close to the 1200. To sell so many suggests they're very optimistic because they've never had support like that in the past, I think a lot will be heading for the exit when we go 3 up on 80 minutes, Madden, Palmer and Rooney.

Think a lot depends on our ability to bring in a temporary replacement for Quigley - having said going off previous history even if we managed it Rusk wouldnβt include him in the squad straight away.

If we can build on yesterdayβs dogged but not especially thrilling win, and put on a bit of a display, weβll be able to put the opening day behind us and have the league table looking a bit healthier.
I think Ruskβs really got to get us up for it at home. No good setting up to defend one-goal leads at EP. Would take 21 of those away, but want to be entertained at home.

If Quigleys out we need to move away from the lone striker, Reid canβt do it by himself. We have good enough wingers / attacking players to go 3 up top.
It wonβt happen but Iβd like to see:
Whitfield ββ madden ββ MSH
βββ Rooney ββ Raikhy βββ βββββββKeane ββββββ
Rydel β Hogan β Palmer β Minihan
Not sure how long Minihans out for, but if heβs still injured, could move hogan to RB and Barclay in to CB

I'm almost hoping we don't to score too early now so that we have to continue to attack!

I quite like that formation too. It would be even better if Kitching & Minihan were fit. Only concern with that set up is whether Madden would stay in that central striker role, he seems to drift all over the place. But i do feel that that formation is probably how we get the best out of him, with two nippy wingers whipping balls into him.

Yeah hopefully with that formation Madden would get more service and feel more inclined to stay up top. Keane would bring a bit of bite into the midfield as well.

A shape like this when attacking should actually be the reality of the system we already play when lining up with a 5. Hard for the wide players (or anyone) to have an influence though when we start lumping it.

Heβs a great right back and RWB but weβre actually lacking that extra winger in the squad.

That's an interesting point. I've always thought we were failing to get the best from him by giving him defensive responsibility instead of using him as a pure winger.

Havenβt got a clue how this one will go.
Could win 3-0 or lose 3-0 π€·ββοΈ
