Can't remember the name of the pub but it's a tiny little place next to Halifax Town Hall that did the best pub pies I've ever tasted. At least they did on the way that mad afternoon at BPA. Good beer too. It's pre match on days like this coming Saturday that I miss most as an exile. Seriously Malc you're better off there, I wish I was still out there but it'll be some months before I can get bac out, Saturday could be a good day but I'd prefer to be back out there.

Trust me, it's only that couple of hours pre-match in a place with good pubs like Halifax that I miss!!

If so, we stopped there we route to BPA in 2018 and had some superb ales.

Just had a look at the odds on bet365 for Warby to score anytime (bound to happen innit!) 11/5, same odds as Rooney. Embarrassingly they also have Connor Jennings at 11/5 also! Matty Warburton has been class so far. Our best player Last was Jack Earing who has moved onto Walsall. We haven’t missed a beat with Warburton moving into the no 10 role. He hasn’t scored yet but he really suits how we play. Gilmour you can tell is a good player, done well as well, but I think he will get better as he plays more. We have a different setup to most teams in this league and will not be punting it up field. The football we have played at home this season has been really impressive. Our Striker is Billy Waters who is about 5”6 he’s also scored 5 in 6 all from open play and will be handful as he never stops running. We have quite a few injuries and the average age our team on Tuesday was 23, but PW seems to have worked Wonders again this season and I think We will do Ok again. ... Great to hear that Warburton has got off to a fine start with yous. I keep getting reminded he's playing for you now then forgetting again. As all know on this board.. what a fine number ten he was/sure still is! I remember Earing well from the game last year also- mobile, intelligent player. Can imagine not an easy one to walk into the boots of.

That's the route and times I'm taking. You can go via Huddersfield from Picc but a few quid more expensive I think. When i lived in elland and my car was off the road i always caught the train from huddersfield rather than halifax to get to EP. Quicker journey and you can get a bus from huddersfield bus station that drops you at the top end of the ground.

Well worth a visit for the beer and the pies alone. I do recall a cheddar and branston pork pie that was utterly delicious.

Starting to get jealous now, can't go as having a (routine) op Friday. Always a good day out at Halifax, even down to the walk back from Victoria to Piccadilly to finish off proceedings.

Tweet from Halifax confirming cash on the turnstiles Interesting that they’re making you enter via skircoat turnstiles. Makes me think you will be housed in skircoat instead of east stand and you will get the terracing as well. Skircoat rd bogs are infamous and their is some obstructions viewing wise, but the acoustics are brilliant. My guess is that want to keep fans apart as much as possible and entrance to skircoat is on top rd, while home fans will enter from opposite end and on bottom rd.

Is the Skircoat stand the one totally opposite to where we were housed last time?

Tweet from Halifax confirming cash on the turnstiles Cash? I'll be emptying my shrapnel jar and paying in 1ps, 2ps and 5ps... hope they get fed up counting, and I get in for less than a tenner. Apologise in advance for anyone behind me in the queue.

I'll tell you what, if we can have another winner like this one, then I'll take another scrappy 1-0 Saturday afternoon. Hands down the goal I most enjoyed commentating on all last season (just saved this 90 second audioclip to Soundcloud to feature in the show Saturday morning, but you can have it/ re-live it here...) Madden goal vs Halifax (a) May 2021
