I would genuinely have more respect for Stott & Wilson if they said "you know what, we f*cked up... Jim is back and he can do it his way, because that has always bred results and progression" What a delightful pipe dream that is. No chance if Jim coming back, I’m not sure I’d want that for him. But if Rusk goes then it’s important whoever comes in is given full control of all first team matters. We aren’t a Championship club and having an enormous recruitment committee bringing a shortlist of 3/4 players to the manager is a waste of time and money at this level. The manager should be head of recruitment, not anyone else. We need a manager, not a head coach.

And I imagine now broken Jim's connection with County (from a managerial perspective).

The writing was on the wall at the end of last season following three home draws and then a home defeat to Hartlepool. Only bringing in Quigley with no one in reserve was naive and a massive mistake. Letting Bennett go too, who scored a brace today. It will be too expensive to sack Rusk and money waisted. I just wish Jim had access to the pot Rusk has got, I am convinced we would be back in the league now. The answer to our problems is the lack of a decent No 9, so bring in a County hero. Someone who is always top scorer in the NLN and scored a hat-trick in a 6-0 win today. Glen Taylor should have been signed two years ago. The Bennett situation shines a very bright light on the main issue for me. Players go backwards here under this management, Bennett went out on loan last season and scored goals in this division. He's now left on a free and is scoring in the division above. He looked shot to peices towards the end of his time here. If you were to put Madden or Reid in any other team in this league they'd be scoring regularly just as they've done in the past. I don't think any of this is up for debate and it isn't acceptable.

Reid has been an average NL striker who’s played for multiple clubs at this level. Last season was an outlier. Gannon, our set up and Bennett got the best out of him against mainly bottom half teams. I’m not having it that you can put him in most others teams and performs.

His demeanour and body language second half was very concerning. Sat in his seat most of the half with his shoulders slumped. The only thing he didn’t do was actually put his head in his hands. There was no sign of him encouraging or even giving the players a good b*ll*cking. He looked completely defeated and no idea what to do next. His lack of experience is now really beginning to show.

Ultimately we’ll see when Rusk is replaced but I know we’re on the same page regarding most things Trickster.

I honestly hope to god they realise what they've done and do everything they can to repair it and go some way to saving face but as you say, it won't and can't happen.

I've spent £700 on 2 season tickets in 2 years and seen 2 goals, one of which was an own goal and 0 wins. We deserve better than this. Fans weren’t allowed for the majority of the games you paid for. Not saying we’re good, but your statement isn’t totally accurate.

Agree. Rabbit in the headlights. Out of his depth and time now to act. Rabbit in the headlights? Can't make up my mind as to whether that should be the name of a progrock group or one of its albums. I'll plump for both.

It LITERALLY might be the absolute case. Because he is saying he has seen 2 goals in 2 years, as if we’ve scored 2 in 2 years. He’d have seen more had fans been able to attend.
