Jesus, we haven’t looked close to putting a string off passes together like that. I’ll never understand the myth that JG’s teams didn’t play good football. Once they were settled in together it was unreal football at times. 2007/08 obvious proof - but remember some of the team goals against Chester and Boston in the NLN season? They were getting hundred of hits on social media because of their quality. You would think a Brighton u23’s manager would want to instill a similar style of play to the video but it’s the polar opposite. Something I really dont understand, there’s no way his u23 sides played the style of football we’re adopting now. Compare this to what we're forced to watch now. Polar opposites.

What team should Rusk pick to save his job. My choice would be. Hinchliffe Fish Palmer Fryers MSH Croasdale Whitfield Kitching Rooney Madden Reid Barclay Collar Raihky Newby Walker Hope he’s reading this because he hasn’t got a clue.

Remember that awful hoof ball we used to play last season? Glad we don't play like this any more. Jesus, we haven’t looked close to putting a string off passes together like that. Once they were settled in together it was unreal football at times. 2007/08 obvious proof - but remember some of the team goals against Chester and Boston in the NLN season? You would think a Brighton u23’s manager would want to instill a similar style of play to the video but it’s the polar opposite. Something I really dont understand, there’s no way his u23 sides played the style of football we’re adopting now. It really is a myth. I remember a goal Craig Davies scored against Bristol Rovers in our league one days which was another example of us playing good passing football. Also at Wembley we passed Rochdale to death, there was a point in the game where we're holding onto the lead in the last minute and we have the ball in the corner and instead of us booting it we played our way out. Also against West Ham of all teams we had our centre halves in our own box from goal kicks to play out. Although we did play direct at times, we were really coming on a passing team from around Christmas time only for a few weeks later we rip all that up and hit self destruct.

Lovely stuff. There’s some sideways and backwards passing in there but it never looks ponderous and the opposition press doesn’t bother us. That’s how controlled passing possession football should be played.

In terms of County teams I’ve enjoyed watching on a consistent basis the Gannon team from 2007 until the beginning of 2009 will take some beating. Played some superb stuff and really knew how to stretch the play.
Can’t remember a period as long as that where we played consistently good football like that. There was 6 months under Kilner, Megson’s first season and obviously the 96-97 season.

Nobody is disputing we weren't good at times under Gannon (or that his sacking was bizzarre), but these posts are completely missing the point. The only question now is whether Rusk is up to the job? I unfortunately think No, but the Gannon ship has sailed so don't understand the need to post examples of good play under him.

Had earmarked this one for my return to EP for the first time since 5-1 vs Halifax, Boxing Day 2019. Kids, renovating our house, life… makes it difficult to get a pass out for County. Sacking it off though, just too much potential to be toxic, even trouble, County fans turning on each other… not worth it.

Compare this to what we're forced to watch now. Polar opposites. That promotion team would trounce our current team, easily. How have we screwed it?

There'll be very little trouble if any, the old Bill will be everywhere and there'll be cameras on e everyone, you never know the team might put a performance in.

Can sympathise with how life can get in the way of being able to attend the footy, & think you're dead right about this coming Saturday. I'm going, but can't say i'm particularly looking forward to it. Hope you get a chance to attend again soon, when hopefully things are going a bit better!

It is amazing how this lot have managed to suck all of the enthusiasm out of us already, after having lost a season and a half due to covid.

We’re you saying the same thing about the Gannon ship sailing after he had been sacked the first and second times?😱☝️⚽️😱
