Feel sorry for them. This interview is worth a listen. Bloke trying to save Gigg Lane and recreate Bury. I guess the Phoenix club would merge with them if successful. It seems to hinge on their council stepping in with £200k

Latic's plight is so similar to our demise. However that can be said for any one of a dozen ex-league teams.

Not a big surprise about both of these teams being in trouble. They have been on the brink for a few years now. After all our troubles in the past i just cannot get any real sympathy for any club or fans anymore. Too many tried to take the piss out of me and County to show any real sadness for anyone else.

I feel a similar way. I don't want someone's club to disappear, far from it, but I do feel a little bit 'meh!' when I read about stuff. Like you say, some took the piss out of us and some positively revealed in our demise.

Like you say, some took the piss out of us and some positively revealed in our demise. They mostly don't disappear anyhow. They almost always survive in some way, shape or form. And usually come out of it at a relatively high level, debt free, and usually spaffing cash like it's going out of fashion in fairly prompt order.

The people who aren't going to get the money they're owed are the ones to feel sorry for, it's far to easy for football clubs to screw people over and carry on

Some may not be still alive to witness a revival if we did an 'Accrington Stanley'. But congratulations to those who brought them back to where they now are.

Good news for them. All about getting the ground back, massive part of the club/identity etc.

So that's the original Bury FC right? I know there was a massive split in the fanbase when Bury AFC were formed as some didn't support it. Doubt they'll come together as one now, which is a shame.

Agreed - the only place where two clubs seem to have thrived post split is Wimbledon / MK which was a very different situation for so many reasons. The Northwich / Enfield experience where two clubs co exist, with the better one being a couple of levels below the level of the old club seems more common. If that model is followed here, stands well for the fan run Bury establishing themselves around NLN level in the medium term with reasonable crowds, with ‘old’ Bury hanging around the NWCL in front of a relative handful.

Surely the one who has gigg will likely succeed. Surely afc guys will shut up shop next year as it won't be sustainable, and most of the fans will want to go to matches at gigg. Something happened similar at Scarborough where there was 2 football clubs but the bigger one survived and everyone simply accepted that was the old club in new form.
