I miss Bury away, hope they sort themselves out. I do not miss walking there though. Bloody POWs charity walks. It actually was a good laugh, especially through some of the Citeh/Dung areas just as they were emerging from there styes to be confronted by several dozen Hatters in full spirits, in their midden.

Last time I went there we thrashed them in the FA Cup in the yellow and green kit, sure we were 3-0 up in the first half running riot. My memory isn't as good as it was in 96/97 but remember it was good for the local area when we both made it to the championship. I can't even remember who won play offs to join us without looking, wasn't arsed about finishing 2nd. But they just fell away after that, abit like Hereford did after they went up automatic in 2008.

A better example is Hinckley. After H. Utd went bust, they split into Hinckley AFC and Leicester Road FC. Hinckley AFC are the fans'club and currently play at (I think) Heather St Johns. Their crowds are healthy and they're doing ok. However LRFC got use of the old ground and while their crowds aren't as big, they're also surviving comfortably and possibly taking fans from the other team. While there are two teams in Hinckley, neither will do well. There needs to be a situation there in forgetting the past and look to the future. A dagenham and redbridge situation could be ideal if the two hinckley teams joined up with nearby nuneaton with a decent ground. Not everone wants to watch leicester or coventry in the same way as we do not watch the manc clubs. Hinckley and Nuneaton AFC could be a force in the future with a bit of money behind it. Unlike many areas there is an interest in football in both towns. Dagenham & Redbridge is at least 4 clubs . Leystone , Ilford who merged , Walthamstow avenue who then merged with L & I , Finally Dagenham & Redbridge Forest merged . 100k watched Leytonstone & Walthamstow Avenue for the Amateur cup in 1950 or 51 at Wembley .

Last time I was there Challinor was playing for them. He got a load of stick when he came up to take a long throw in close to our fans and he did a little fist pump at us when they scored from it. I'd have liked him to have done a big celebration and properly milked it and I'm sure he has regrets when he thinks back to that moment now. What's done is done though.

Grimsby did it for their goals at the CE sliding on knees etc. Used to wind me up abit but happens all the time when I watch matches on EFL Highlights so not really arsed anymore.

Time flies, I do now remember Crewe beating Luton in play offs but can't remember who they beat in final.

The BURYFCSS website when talking about the resolution says they now have a clear direction, implying that they will not now merge with AFC, given that 62% voted in favour of the motion to merge I’m not sure how that really transpires to be a clear direction to stay separate. All of above assumes I’ve read the statement correctly. Hopefully the 62.9% go and support AFC and force BURYFCSS's hand. I fear for Bury ever getting back to the league if the fanbase is split. That said some of their fans talked a lot about not wanting to get back to the league because of the "way [they] were treated" so maybe they'd see that as a good thing.

They want to be a non league club forever! Darlo, scarborough, kiddy and to a lesser extent Moston rc have proved what a difficult league nln is to get out of. I can't quite believe it hasn't gone through with a split fanbase there's little chance of a successful club.

Luckily for them they probably won’t have the luxury of choice of NL or FL. Hereford, Chester & Darlo have all struggled in NLN, I think Bury & Macclesfield will also be in for a rude awakening when they get there.

Different set up to the others you've mentioned. They've actually got money and the structure they've set up at that club is way above their level. That will make them competitive at NLN (the squad they've got now would probably be competitive to a degree).

Bury fans seem to have a death wish and cannot keep there own personal feelings in control for the future of their club. If they are not careful the whole mess will end in tears i,m sure.

Look at Fylde, put a lot of money into it but have faltered the past few years. I think Macc’s level will end up being NL / NLN, would be very surprised to see them in the league again, not for a very long time anyway.
