Can anyone please tell me what Hogan brings to our team?
As a Captain he is a poor leader, loses the ball when in position and does something Gannon used to preach against. He gives numerous free kicks away around the penalty area. It’s like we play with 10 men against 12 when he plays as he looks like the oppositions 12th man, he has gifted them so many chances. Yet we play him ahead of Palmer!!!
I remember Nyal Bell giving the ball away which led to a late goal against Torquay. Hogan had a right go at him and we never saw Bell again. but it is something Hogan continually does. We need a solid, strong and dependable centre half to partner Ash Palmer.
As a Captain he should lead by example, he does not do that or is he a club man. Sam Minihan should be our Captain, always gives 100% and gives to the Club. What does Hogan do to warrant being our Captain?🧢

He's so good at times but you can guarantee one key mistake that costs a goal. Glad he'll go at the end of the season when his contract is out.

Didn't he get voted Player of the Season last season? Was about to post the same. He’s undoubtedly a quality player at this level, but I’m not having him as a captain. He often looks to blame/berate others and yesterday I’d have expected a proper captain to get within 50 feet of us rather than half heartedly clap and then scuttle off. Don’t really know what coming over would have achieved but at least it’d look like he cares, at the moment I don’t think any of them are bothered at all. It’s part of a captain’s job to instil that in every player. We’re massively suffering from a lack of leaders across the pitch. The Champions team had Palmer, Turnbull, Walker and Warburton, always looking to raise the standard on the pitch and driving us forward. I noticed Madden was having a go at Reid and shaking his head a few times yesterday too.

He’s a terrible captain. Constantly blaming other players with no acknowledgement of his own mistakes.
Jim saw this against Torquay last season and rightly dropped him for the next game claiming ‘we don’t do things that way here’. Unfortunately we do things like that here now.
Hogan, Rooney Madden, 3 players that have far too much power.

I suspect what we're seeing is a group of players being sent onto the pitch without a proper plan, but more of a "philosophy", and as such they're not sure where anybody else is supposed to be, or what they're supposed to do. As a result, they look lazy, get embarrassed when things go wrong, and start taking it out on each other. An experienced non-league manager would soon have Liam Hogan back to the levels we all know he's capable of.

Experienced, quality players should also be able to work things out better for themselves

He’s a quality player.
I for one have now decided to reserve any further judgement on players until Rusk is gone now.
The players we’ve got all have had some form of success somewhere else, that isn’t made up so they must have something about them.
Even Ash has looked poor recently, so I’ve realised it’s hard to blame the players

I can understand the argument for Minihan . He has limitations but not in his drive and passion for SCFC . I myself would go with Croasdale . Anybody remember his first full match under JG when he dominated the midfield and drove forward . MOM . Those were the days
We have a few free loaders who are up themselves. No need to name names but we know who they are . Keane who rarely gets a look in was first class first half against Grimsby and did more forward purposeful play than Hogan has managed since arriving. Grimsby then changed tactics to nullify him second half because they had a manager who can .
The set up is shot to pieces presently because ultimately it’s finding a yes man for Wilson. And the decent managers won’t work for a twit

I'm convinced they rigged the player of the year awards last season, there's no way he was our best player last season.
Worst defender at the club, and our goals conceded record proves it, should never play for us again.

I know people have said “it’s just a picture” but I genuinely think the club believes he and Rooney were legends-in-the making for County, which is why they were put on the CE concourse mural. Perhaps club management expressed this opinion to the two of them, leading to a situation where they now get picked to play whenever available and in spite of form. And I admit I was one of those who pointed to our performances being better with JR in the team than not last season. This season though, we’re just garbage whoever’s in the side…

Think I’d be toying with having Croasdale as captain.
He looked poor at the back end of last season, but I think we misuse him in Rusk’s system. He was electric when he came in and was turning in MOTM performances every week.
Works his socks off every time he’s on the field, which is every week. Positive trait to have.
