Picking the captain and marquee signing for last season for the mural made perfect sense, surely? As I've said before, what 8 year old kid is going to look at pictures and be impressed to see Bill Williams, or anyone else from our history? They want a big picture of someone they can see... and I'm not arsed by who is in the pictures because, ya know, I'm not going to get my picture taken with it. Palmer, Minihan, Hinchliffe should have been up there instead

I’d have my photo taken with a mural of Alun every week 🥰 I bet you would. Largely because I doubt that is covered by that restraining order.

I bet you would. Largely because I doubt that is covered by that restraining order. Not yet. As our resident shirt expert and also an Alun superfan, then could you clear up the 2 shirts stuff. It came at a time when players started to get booked for taking their shirts off whilst celebrating a goal, and similar to Todd who found a way to get round the backpass rule(by kneeing it to the keeper) then I remember Al taking off his shirt after scoring a goal, to reveal an identical one underneath. So my questions are.. Did he still get a booking? Did he do it more than once? Are there stories of other players doing it with an identical shirt underneath their match shirt?

Having watched the latest video, the number of mistakes Hogan makes together with losing the ball in possession and extremely poor clearances. I think if he plays he shouldn’t be Captain as he doesn’t put a decent shift in at the moment. IMO he could do a lot better and if he doesn’t improve ship him out to a rival!!!

It's clearly a confidence issue, but he's making some poor decisions lately.
How long do you persist and hope he comes good again? We are clearly stats driven with the number of backroom staff, so he clearly mut be on their radar.
I guess it's a big statement to drop your captain, but at the moment he's costing or nearly costing goals. We don't score enough to get away with it every week unfortunately.

It seems strange that United have sent Fish on loan, but he doesn't make the first team. Can't see them being happy about that.
I'd give Fish a chance ahead of Hogan, but we must have Palmer in as first choice.

And the fact the club bigged up the signing, in terms of how lucky we were to get him. Seems strange he's gone out of favour after 1 game (though obviously the International Duty hasn't helped).

He didn't look great in the game he had, not sure this is the right league for a youngster in Central defence no matter how promising.

Thing is Barclay has looked awful, whereas we know Hogan is capable of much better.
I wonder whether it’s a personal life thing. Think someone has posted he’s just had twins, and instead of getting proper paternity leave to get used to it, he’s been going to work as usual. In any other job, you’d expect a drop in performance in that situation, and much as we’d like to think differently, footballers are still just employees when it comes down to it.
No harm in giving Fish a run out in an easier game though I’d say.

He’s been a mistake waiting to happen for a good while imo. I’d definitely be giving him a breather at this point. His contract runs out at the end of the season which might also have an influence. I’ll be shocked if we were to extend it on current form

Barclay has looked tosh, but have we played him in a natural position?
Look at Whitfield's performances since we've played him in position. Then also Paddy Madden's now firing since he's getting supplied etc.
