Heard that they have approached Simon Lomas who will be assisted by Dave Conlon, Jim Gannon is unable to free himself from his contract with Hyde but gave a glowing endorsement for Simon after he gave him an insightful post match team talk early in the season after the Alfreton home game during the title winning season, Jim said this galvanised the team and spurred them onto the title as they barely lost after this, he sees him as a modern thinking coach and as a County fan will motivate them and get the desired passion needed for the club to be successful

Just how he was after we went into admin, suggesting we went up because we spent money we couldn't afford, when in reality we spent the money we really couldn't afford the season after - and whilst ignoring the fact they got to the playoffs due to directors loans etc, so hardly like they were self sufficient. I’m not sure that would be the best reason not to appoint him.

Completely unnecessary and disrespectful thread while we have a manager in place. Rubbish, being a Football Manager is not a typical job, if he's sacked he gets paid up in full, and if he's successful he's treated like a king by the fans... Rusk has got to go and Wilson's poor judgement means he must follow.

Like with the last thread I don’t like it while we still have a manager in place.
That said, the only realistic name I’ve seen floated that I think looks good on paper is John Askey. He apparently likes to play attacking football, develops youngsters, and tries to get the best out of his current players before changing personnel.
But regardless whoever it is needs full autonomy, and Simon Wilson needs to get out of their way. He can play with his stat stuff when we’re out of non league until then we need a manager who knows how to build a team, not a head coach following the data.

Completely unnecessary and disrespectful thread while we have a manager in place. We had a manager in place when Rusk was in discussions about taking his job. This. Snakes. And all due respect but Rusk is f*cking pony.

He can play with his stat stuff when we’re out of non league until then we need a manager who knows how to build a team, not a head coach following the data. I mean this is from John Askey’s wiki and does this not sound like everything we lack right now: “ Askey has a reputation for playing attractive football and for managing teams on a budget by spotting ability in young players and helping revive the careers of players whose careers had stalled.[16] His favoured formation is a 4–3–3 and he prefers to play with a high-tempo, pressing style.[57] Former player Adam Yates said that Askey was a hard working coach who was open to input from his players and did not hold a grudge; in terms of tactics he felt Askey was "quite fond of the three in midfield and three up top".[58] Macclesfield and Port Vale defender Kieran Kennedy said that Askey liked to play passing football but also "he had a plan B, C and D which really helped us if we were up against it."[59] Football agent Phil Sproson described Askey as "an attack-minded manager".[60]” en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Askey

Completely unnecessary and disrespectful thread while we have a manager in place. Well Rusk didn’t show any respect discussing his contract whilst Jimbo was in place did he?

Not sure that is fair, it be people within the club opening talks in the first instance, hes a duty to his own career, lots can attribute but not sure thats a fair angle

My guess is that our next manager will be another random appointment
Doubt any decent experienced manager will be happy to work within the confines of the set up of the club - most would want full control and won't want to play 2nd fiddle to Wilson who clearly holds the power

Someone said it was disrespectful to discuss who we'd like as our next manager while Rusk is still in that position. I'm not saying its right or wrong for Rusk to hold talks about the managers job here while Jim was still in charge but I am saying that having done it, it isn't disrespectful to discuss Rusk's successor while he's still in the job. The respect that was called for earlier in the thread cuts both ways.
