I love JG, he's a legend in my eyes. Yes he has faults but so do most managers.
However for his sake I'd say he should stay away. The guys been shat on both times he's been here. He and his family deserve better than what County can offer at the moment.
If I was in charge, I'd honestly give him a 5 year contract and say that regardless, he's got 5 years to implement what he wants at County. JG can bring stability, but he needs to be offered stability for himself and an environment where he's given time to build what we know he can build.

Following Jack's post on t'other board. Would you be happy if Jim was involved again ? PS this is not a rumour!
I'm on the fence on this one. I have a lot of time for JG since he became a playing hero after what I thought was an indifferent start and also did well as manager first time around. I think it would be a big risk as he is no expert at this level and with part time players to contend with too he could really damage his reputation for the final time. I would back him 100% if he returned but he would need serious financial backing and can't see that happening.

Good post, he needs the players to know that he's on solid ground, when Snape blasted him publicly I think the social loafers in our squad decided to speed up his departure. If Snape had have come out and said "results are poor but we believe in this man and he's here for the long haul" the players would have been better.

A big yes for me. The way he was treated by Snape was a disgrace.

Agreed Vic, undermining a manager in any industry or work place never works, so why Snape thought it would be beneficial no one knows. Maybe he's just so out of touch with the real world he doesn't see the impact his words have.

Thought after his last exit had had told fans at a HTH meeting he was done with being a football manager?

I would love to see him back. I just don't think we are set up for it as things stand to give him a good crack at what needs to be done. We need money behind the scenes to get the setup right - youth setup/development squad, Wardy and Lordy doing what they do best, etc.

As much as I like JG I personally wouldn't want him back for all the reasons that have been pointed out, it just wouldnt be right for both him and the club at the moment

Me to in a flash suedy, BUT we'd have to have a board that backs him, not a board that says theres no dosh left for new players, and as soon as he left brought in about 7 or 8 duffers.

I think Jim will be involved with our club again at some point - no idea if its 5 months, 5 years or 15 years but he will deffo be involved with County again in the future in some shape or another.

It does seem inevitable, I could see him coming in and working with Lordy again. As much as I like Lordy it's a bit late to be cutting his managerial teeth.
