I'd have Jim back, he should never have left first time or second time. Weren't we in the relegation zone on goal difference with a game in hand when we lost to Mansfield, who then went on to win promotion? Lordys the man right now, but hypothetically, there's no one better than Jim at this level. There's no one better than Jim at this level? Plenty better than JG!! Time to move on... Without real investors with serious cash nothing will ever change.

I find it astonishing how some people manage to just find the negative. The day before Gannon was sacked we were just seven points behind the eventual champions (and with a better away record) with over 20 games left to play. Even after the Mansfield game we were shorter odds for promotion than relegation until the idiots stepped in again. despite the idiots we would not have been relegated had he not been sacked and we would probably be looking at the play offs this season playing in front of around 4000 each game. unless something changes toute suite we will be playing in front of 1500 and the spiral will continue to gather pace. That's an incredibly biased way of looking at it. Here's another way: we were in the bottom four. We were getting regularly beaten at home by sides with smaller budgets than we had. The team were getting booed off the pitch almost every game. For what it's worth, I think if the board had stuck with Jim and made the funds available to him that Darije / McKnight clearly had available, then I think we'd have stayed up. I also think if they'd sacked Jim and made those funds available to Bogie, we'd have stayed up. But either way, to pretend that the first half of last season was anything other than a massive disappointment is simply re-writing history. Gannon made a number of mistakes in his 2nd term here and eventually they cost him his job. Well in terms of performances I wasn't massively disappointed, we played the best football I had seen since admin. Obviously it would have been nice to have been higher up the league but with around ten points more than after the same number of games played the previous season and with the basis of a good young squad, rather than the social loafers, we had made significant progress. In my opinion Gannon had made about the same number of 'mistakes' as he did in his first spell but as they say you can't make an omelette withough breaking a few eggs, the injury scare to Hattersley was a much more significant event than any of those broken eggs though. Its all about opinions and sadly the idiots held the day and not only was Gannon sacked but all the good work was undone when the squad was broken up and McKnob went on his personal ego trip in appointing Dave.

Think that JG has/had County's long term future in mind; more interested in ensuring that we have a football team for future generations. Other managers have no real affinity or passion for County and are more interested in making a name for themselves rather than securing our future (don't include Lordy in this). JG did make mistakes, but he was developing for the future, albeit with his hands tied behind his back. I personally could have better accepted a relegation with JG and I'm certain we'd be in a better position now. Getting JG back would give me some hope for the future, albeit from a pretty hopeless starting point. Whilst there are some who would get on JG's back if things went wrong on the pitch there are also plenty who would stick with him given his philosophy of building a club with the future in mind.

Are people forgetting how the board treated Jim.....do people actually realise that for the last six weeks of his employment, he was also the Groundsman!!! That is just one example of how cr*p Snape was with him. The board made his life hell, and then had the cheek to criticise him heavily on Pure!!!
There is no one better than JG for our club right now, and the fact that his name is mentioned so much to me means he has unfinished business!!!

Think that the fact that he'd even consider coming back in any capacity shows you that he loves the club and would do whatever he could to make sure that we survive.

the biggest factor for Jim's struggle was the thankfully now departed chairman's stupidity to blast out his discontentment over the radio. The players who were lazy sods and people I would most certainly not piss on if they were on fire, just decided they would help get rid. Bit like Clough at Leeds Utd

There is a problem with one of the shareholders refusing to budge though. If he doesn't change his stance, the SS/Gannon thing won't get anywhere. Which one? Uncle Spencer.

Do you know that for a fact?

Do you know that for a fact? Assuming the person who told me, who I have no reason to doubt, was telling the truth, then yes. It's a fact.

Maybe the offer wasn't all that genuine.

Maybe the offer wasn't all that genuine. Hmmm interesting stuff. I didn't think he was the most likely to refuse to sell.

He probably mentioned writing off the loans to put the pressure on the others and make him look like the saint.
