Thought it was wise to have a place for all bits and bobs related to our new division.
I’ll start it off with the unsurprising news that Salford have sacked Keano’s father in law Gary Bowyer. Expect Michael Appleton to be announced in the coming days.

He's openly admitted that Alexander shouldn't have gone. More importantly, after a bad start to the season, they're 4th in the form table for the last 30 games, though their last 5 wasn't great and dashed their outside chance of the POs. I'll have a read of their Board and see what they think. Maybe it's a case of Neville rating Appleton very highly.

Average attendance was a whopping 2,274. I'm so looking forward to being able to overtake that particular vanity project

Those egos can't be happy with attendances like that.

Bury or Oldham would have been an understandable option for them as both clubs had at least one link to them. If they’d taken over Bury I’d almost have a modicum of respect for the whole thing, especially given the Nevilles familial connections. They wouldn’t have been able to change the colours and badge or make it all about them at Bury though, and their egos wouldn’t allow that.

I wonder if they themselves ever genuinely thought they could attract those crowds
