Unbelievably, we've rattled through almost 50,000 page views on here in the past week. TRE and I are going to chuck some more at this to keep the ads away but if you would like to keep the board ad-free, you can contribute here - www.proboards.com/store/add_cart/ad_free/50000/theyellowboard.boards.net/1You can make a one-off payment or set up a monthly recurring payment if you're feeling particularly generous - although not 100% sure if that's available to everyone or just admin. A payment of $8 will cover 50,000 pages views, $24 will get 150,000 views, and so on (recurring payments are significantly discounted by 30-40%, which is what TRE and I will do). Nice one! I mean this as a genuine question and not the moaning over-the-top kind of way there’s been on show recently, but what’s the plan with paid days here if we’re all going back to Marionsboard in a few weeks? I know this place will stay open when we go back to Marionsboard for a while, but I’d imagine it’ll be much quieter on here until it’s the only permanent board (if that happens), and that people won’t split their time over two boards in the meantime. When we go back over there, are the paid days/views people buy for here not better being done when the time comes for the move, or does it not make much difference and they’ll just be used up as and when it gets traffic? On current traffic, which I'd expect to get busier, I think it's reasonable to expect about 250,000 page views here in the next three weeks. To give everyone the best experience, we want those to be ad-free. Unless someone chucks £100s at the board, I doubt we'd have much, if any, credit left over at the end of the three weeks. If there is any, it'll continue to get used at a rate dictated by how many people use the board. If we're getting 50 page views, as was the case a month ago, it'll last a long time. If, as in the last 24 hours, we're getting 30k page views, it'll disappear quite quickly.

Probably a touch more, by a couple of quid a month. But difficult to say with certainty as boardhost doesn’t offer any analytics at all so no idea of page views etc. Also because you have to click onto every post on there, the page views will be astronomical.

I’m happy to contribute to one board. Gonna wait to see what happens with the other one first.

The only thing stopping me from contributing at the moment is my industry having completely stopped and slipping through the cracks of the SEISS meaning I have no guaranteed income at the moment. When things are back on an even keel I’d be more than happy to contribute to one board. This or boardhost.

Just topped up the account for 100k page views so they should be gone now.

This is all the sort of the stuff that needs explaining to the close-minded few who aren’t even giving this place a go (if you can get them to listen). I think it was Bigmartin who said it on the other board last night, but there’s no actual features of that board that can really be identified as better than on here - I just don’t get it. The only argument is “we’ve been here years” or “it’s really yellow”. It just gets dismissed. It was the same last time and people made a joke of it only being better because of a bigger range of emojis when obviously there's a lot more to it than that. Ultimately, there's none so blind as those who won't see. Oh the irony

He’s brought the boardhost double posting with him. I for one applaud it.

Won't put his name out there but thank you to the gent who has just put 100k paid views on for us, it's massively appreciated.
We're absolutely flying through them at the moment so a massive thank you for any support.

We're absolutely flying through them at the moment so a massive thank you for any support. Another genuine question - what's the problem with ads? Didn't see them when they appeared briefly, but are they particularly intrusive? That'd be the only show-stopper for me. If they're not, it wouldn't bother me if ads did the funding rather than relying on donations/you guys. That said, I'd probably chip in something if this becomes the default board. Never considered doing so over there.
