I thought it was Gillingham at home? Providing Jaros doesn't come back in when fit (which I think he might), it'll be: 296 - Hartlepool 297 - Charlton replay 298 - Rochdale 299 - Gillingham 300 - Crewe Hopefully Jaros doesn’t. Ben has missed all the big recent cup games, he’s due one. And has done absolutely nothing wrong to be replaced either. We’re better with him than without.

Is Hinchliffe likely to play Cheshire senior Cup? Or we gonna give Bobby Jones a game Has to be Jones. When we were a desperate non league team there was a little value in the competition but after 40 years following County it was a nothing competition until the NLN days. We had to start thinking non league to get out of the doldrums. It’s time to start thinking football league now and see this as the reserve team competition it always was to us.

Yep, play the kids and one or two in the first squad who could do with some minutes. Hinchliffe, Horsfall, Croasdale, Madden etc shouldn’t be anywhere near it.

We might not have to worry about who's playing on Wednesday; I heard this morning that the club has asked to withdraw.

Interesting - any idea why?
Surely a good run out for the kids and Evans, Lewis etc. to keep them sharp? Was looking forward to hearing how Okwute played too.

Change of venue was rejected so club asked to withdraw. Might not come to anything but I've no reason to doubt the info.

Not only that it is within the rules. Non-League teams are obligated to treat it as a first-team competition. Football League teams have the allowance to treat it as a reserve team competition.

I quite like the CSC. Now we're in the league it's like a competitive friendly that gives the youngsters and fringe players a run out. Hope we don't pull out. And yes Ben shouldn't be risked.

And yes Ben shouldn't be risked. it's also the perfect game for Okwute. He's not going to get into the main matchday squad and is too old for academy games. How is it gonna work with jennings and Newby? Reckon they just play or not allowed too.

I’d be a little concerned if we were looking to pull out of a competition like the CSC because of the cost of hosting the game. Not saying your post is wrong, just that it would be a concern.

They have been selling tickets for the game at EP for over a week now.

This is just me speculating on what I've been told, but we've now got an extra home game to host that wasn't originally anticipated. I believe the request to change venue and then to withdraw came after Saturday's result. As I say, might not end up happening as the club may just be posturing and it'll go ahead as planned, but I'm confident that this has happened.

I could understand us not wanting to host another game and want to switch venues, it’s the suggestion of it being a financial decision that would worry me slightly but maybe that’s a convenient line to support a withdrawal request. However if we’ve asked to switch venues, been refused and then ask to drop out on finance grounds it sounds a little strange. Anyway, just checked the ticket site and we don’t have the game on there and sure it was previously……

It'll cost us to put the game on, floodlights, stewards, grounds staff etc and nobody will be go through the turnstiles to make up for it. Why should we host a game that isn't a first team game and will make us lose money?
