I could understand us not wanting to host another game and want to switch venues, it’s the suggestion of it being a financial decision that would worry me slightly but maybe that’s a convenient line to support a withdrawal request. However if we’ve asked to switch venues, been refused and then ask to drop out on finance grounds it sounds a little strange. Anyway, just checked the ticket site and we don’t have the game on there and sure it was previously…… Good spot. They were definitley on. Nik will be correct. It'll cost us to put the game on, floodlights, stewards, grounds staff etc and nobody will be go through the turnstiles to make up for it. Why should we host a game that isn't a first team game and will make us lose money? That could be argued by every club in this and several other competitions, crowds are never big in the Cheshire Cup so why not pull out before it starts?

It was a pointless thing when we were still in non league. Let alone now. Not worth churning the pitch up for.

Not sure where I sit on this one, would have thought we could have fielded a decent enough side from the fringe players and youth team.

Seems an odd decision on paper, you would have thought it would be a good opportunity for game time for a few players and youth teamers. Maybe there are a few knocks and we don't have as much depth now we've let a few go?

Maybe there are a few knocks and we don't have as much depth now we've let a few go? depth of senior players isn't that big anymore. We probably have 19/20 senior players and we had 4 injurys to senior players on Saturday. Sarcevic, jaros, Johnson and brown.

That's what I was told this morning; once those two options were rejected then the club requested to withdraw.

So it's not about depth but about venue. Can only guess they were concerned about the pitch, can't be sure the wet weather won't continue.
This grassmaster turf should be able to handle plenty of games each season.

If you look at Altys site it gives a nudge towards it being about “fitting the game in” so could be about ground or squad protection, maybe a bit of both.

That'd be peak County.
