On the AwayDay Show this morning I was joined by Nick/Fallowfield Hatter of TSBW fame for discussion of topics of note including the perils of getting on the wrong side of The Footballing Gods (also who are they and must their identities be kept secret as per those of The Pools Panel); likely Chinese takeaway options of current squad members (on which we were absolutely of one mind and confident in our judgements)... oh and our hopes/fears/dreams for this afternoon/the run-in! A few top tunes figured along the way, including a new hip-hop section because we are 'down with the kids'.... and one which Ayra the Cat took umbrage at (she's funny like that). If any of that tickles your whiskers, there is still time to make the Show part of your matchday Build-up- right here: AwayDay Show- Gillingham

The AwayDay Show goes live tomorrow for our last outing of the regular season. Our specially-commissioned Orient Express departs at 930AM in the general direction of London Town, and features all your essentials for the big-match build-up: insight from the dugouts; poll taking the pulse of the County Nation (coming up on here in a minute...); and a good few choice tunes of eclectic nature, including (I am reliably informed) the selection of this week's Fantastic County Fan guest- none other than Frankie/ Young Geordie Hatter (who plans to join us fresh off the Glasgow-Victoria overnight coach, crazy intrepid young supporter of note that he is). If any of that onboard entertainment sounds like a credible accompaniment to your matchday breakfast- then it will be great to have you on board. Proceed through the link to our splendidly-appointed buffet car ladies and gents, and form an orderly queue: AwayDay Show- Orient

On the AwayDay Show this morning I was joined by fantastic County fan guest (and fine boy of mine) young Geordie Hatter AKA Frankie, who did rather well to describe his London surroundings given that he hadn't slept since approximately Penrith. We also learnt of a noontime-opening Chinese Takeaway option just ten minutes from the ground, and heard eclectic musical offerings including the theme tune from Minder and an Australian indiepop cover of New Order's Bizarre Love Triangle. Oh and we revealed the result of this week's Poll taking the pulse of the County Nation (which was closer than ever, with one vote in it- one vote!). Wherever you're following this afternoon's action, there's still time to make the Show part of your pre-match build-up, right here: AwayDay Show- Orient

With apologies for the late notice everyone... but there's no Awayday Show tomorrow, for the very good reason that the first leg weekend has coincided with us driving up to Bonny Scotland to collect young Frankie from University and bring him back... for a short sojourn in Stockport which will very happily coincide (tickets permitting)with the opportunity for us to take in the EP leg together.
In the meantime... greetings to everyone from the faded modernist splendour of Forton services (M6 North) and wish us good luck on the road (in a weekend for luck on the road quite generally, let's hope...)

It's not just every Tom Dick and Harriet with a sixteen-seater licence who's running a Wembley Special, you know.... as the AwayDay Show emerges out of the garage for its climactic outing of the season. I'll be sort of busy finding my way through the capital from Victoria Station on the day of the actual game.... so the Show comes primed to get our Final Weekend up and running at our traditional time of 930AM SATURDAY. We'll have all your usual features, including the news from the dugout, insight into the opposition, results of the Poll Taking the Pulse of the County Nation (incoming Friday AM...).... and a specially-chartered coachful of top tunes. Oh- and Nick of TSBW Fame/this very parish as our Fantastic County Fan Guest, no less! Sound like your sort of Big Match Build-Up? Tune in live- right here: AwayDay Show- Wembley Special

On the AwayDay Show this morning we covered the arithmetical challenges of following a penalty shoot out in the ground (as opposed to on the telly) with Nick of TSBW/this very parish, learnt of Chinese takeaway options near Wembley for the lunchtime kick-off, and weighed up Vernon Bear's chances in a straight fight with Ursine Ultra (the official mascot of Cumbria-based band British Sea Power; but then you knew that). There were also tracks from Bowie, Smiths, Maximo Park, Half Man Half Biscuit, and the aforementioned Cumbrians. If that sounds like an essential part of your big match build-up.. then there is still time to catch us- right here: AwayDay Show- Wembley Special!
