Why the hell should we or anyone else change arrangements? As though the whole country wants to watch the charade of people dressing in costumes from centuries ago and flaunting their wealth at the biggest snobbery event around where social climbing and perceived importance is all that matters. Let those that want to watch it,watch it. Let the rest of us get on with our own lives. FFS we're in 2022 now and this medieval stuff is still a highlight in some peoples lives? But it's a free country so each to their own.,just don't impose it on us all. They do not exactly impose it on you but the propaganda campaign in the weeks running up to the event will work on many and they,ll watch it. It will be like another re make of the film The Prisoner Of Zenda but that was a story based in the 1890,s in ruritania and not 2023 britain. The monarchist however will come out with the facts that whatever millions it does cost, if the cost was spread out to us all we could not buy a decent meal for it.

Nobody's genuinely suggesting the coronation will be moved; I was saying that the Hartlepool game could be moved from 6 May to another date. A move to 7 May is still a move. Leave the game at the original date. Need a good reason to get out of the house for a few hours to avoid the coronation at all costs. Even if there is sod all riding on the game i cannot see many County fans and poolies being put off the game because of charlie 3 and the bbc angels. Only thing what would put me off would be a local rally on the day by Republic. From what I have read, the ceremony is only going to be an hour long, so it will probably be in the morning (if the POW has a say).

They should do it at 345PM, beam it on concourse screens/scoreboards the length of the land, and have it done with in time for the teams coming out. Everybody happy.

If he’s really keen on slimming down the monarchy he could just call the show off, he’s already King, just crack on with it

Surely a quick act of parliament can come up with the idea that a local registry office can crown a monarch or just sign the papers and send them off to somewhere like the DVLA due to an official name change.
