With the League One line-up for next season being finalised yesterday, with Crawley’s victory in the play-off final, I thought I’d take a look at the last time County have played at all of next season’s opponents in the league. Out of 23 games I’ve researched, County have only managed three wins. Hopefully that’s not an early omen for some awful travel sickness for Dave Challinor’s men in the third tier. I’m sure we’ll be alright, although obviously we’ll lose at Birmingham and Mansfield. And probably Wrexham. thescarfmyfatherwore.substack.com/p/from-reading-to-rotherham-lets-take

Alex Lipniski wrote his first piece for us back in December when he took an early morning Flixbus from Nottingham to London, before catching a train to Aldershot for our FA Cup game. From eating chicken and pasta with garlic bread for breakfast, to grabbing a photo at Buckingham Palace on his way home, I really enjoyed reading his article, and his second feature on The Scarf My Father Wore is just as good, taking a closer look at all things Derby ahead of our pre-season friendly with the Rams in Murcia. thescarfmyfatherwore.substack.com/p/the-hatters-and-the-rams

I did not realise they'd been in league 2 for 11 years, I've really enjoyed reading these, thanks for doing them!

I quite like Accy but they seem determined to cover every single German chant and it's become a bit monotonous, it's happening across the country but they've taken it to another level.

Donny fan Jamie Wainman last joined us back in January, after watching his side lose 5-1 at home to County. “Atrocious,” was his verdict. “It’s all about survival now, which I never thought would be the case. Even after the first few games I had a pretty large bet that we’d still finish in the top 10. How wrong I was! I think we may survive by the skin of our teeth but depending on our result against Sutton we could go into serious panic mode.” The following Saturday, Rovers were 1-0 down at Sutton, before equalising with a penalty six minutes into injury time. Talk about a turning point in a season. Donny lost just 1 of their next 17 games (including 10 wins in a row) to miraculously book a place in the play-offs. I think most fans across the country wanted to see them complete their fairytale season, and they did win 2-0 at Crewe in the first leg, but lost by the same scoreline at home before missing out on penalties. thescarfmyfatherwore.substack.com/p/were-all-going-on-a-league-one-tour-d52
