another great read... sadly Morecambe look doomed, but hopefully they get their shit together.
Good reminder of Chorley, and one of the 1st times we played them, when we swapped ends at Half Time - proper grim memory of our Non League days.

If my calculations are correct, we’ve got seven teams left to feature in our great big review of 2023-24, starting with Gillingham today. That gives us one more week of these interviews before we can start to excitedly look ahead to League One, and find out what the likes of Birmingham, Blackpool and Barnsley have been up to in the 20 years since we last played them. Gillingham were tipped for the play-offs with their new American investment, but they won’t be joining us in the third tier after falling away from their position as the early leaders in League Two, to the disappointment of many in Kent such as Matt from Gills in the Blood. thescarfmyfatherwore.substack.com/p/were-all-going-on-a-league-one-tour-fbf

A big thank you to everyone taking part in our Euro 2024 sweepstake. Just added £100 to my JustGiving page, which takes the current total to £1,816. For the 24 people taking part, I’m going to do a live draw for your teams on Facebook on Friday at 5pm!
I’m going to run another sweepstake for anyone else wanting to join in, at just £5 per team. This one will be £50 to the winner, £20 to the runner-up, and £50 to Mentell. If you’d like a team, drop me a message or email thescarfmyfatherwore@substack.com.

I didn’t plan the order in which these season reviews were published, but I like the fact we’ve ended up with Notts County to round it all off. Meadow Lane was the scene of one of the all-time great County nights in April, and it feels like the perfect way to close the chapter on our League Two coverage. K-Ci Rennicks from Notts To Talk About has the honour of wrapping up the series for us, looking back at the Magpies’ campaign. thescarfmyfatherwore.substack.com/p/were-all-going-on-a-league-one-tour-624

⚽️🏴🏴 The Euros start today! As it’s the opening day of the tournament, I thought we should publish something Euro-related, and I’m delighted that author Steven Scragg has allowed me to share an exclusive extract from his new book, Euro 88: The Football Purists’ European Championship. thescarfmyfatherwore.substack.com/p/euro-88-the-football-purists-european

We’ll have more stuff on the Euros over the next few weeks, but it’s fair to say most County fans are more excited for the start of the new domestic season, with the Hatters back in League One for the first time since 2009-10. I can’t wait for the new campaign, which is why I’m launching our series of season previews today. Last year, I went with a classic Beautiful South lyric to introduce each article. This year, for no particular reason, it’s Oasis. Over the coming weeks, I’ll be speaking to supporters from every club in League One, and we’re kicking off with Crawley fan Dan Jones. thescarfmyfatherwore.substack.com/p/whats-the-story-crawley-crawley
