Even though it meant he only got an hour and fifteen minutes of sleep for work the next day, John Edgerton jumped on Crofter Coaches for the midweek trip to Kent. Bob Carey volunteered to be our train correspondent for this one, as he only lives in Essex. And Des Junior enjoyed a pleasant trip down south in the passenger seat of Cashy the groundsman’s car. thescarfmyfatherwore.substack.com/p/getting-to-bed-at-half-four-in-the

Here’s Andrew Barlow, Ed Chadwick, Ian Brown and Jonathan Baker with this week’s preview. (Even though it’s 9.05am as I’m about to send this out, which means the referee is literally on Colchester’s pitch right now, possibly about to call it off.) thescarfmyfatherwore.substack.com/p/colchester-v-county-d18

Back in January, after our game at Notts County was postponed, we published an article featuring different County fans who still managed to enjoy a Saturday afternoon game of football, from Stoke to Stockport Town. With Saturday’s game at Colchester falling victim to the weather, I thought we’d do a similar piece for you today. So here’s Paul Flanagan, Michael Shoard, John Hornsby, Dan Levy, Edward Keane and Bob Carey with their alternative arrangements from the weekend. thescarfmyfatherwore.substack.com/p/county-fans-are-on-their-way-to-essex

I’ve now walked over 100 miles as part of my schlep across Stockport. That’s today’s main feature, as I escort you through last week’s stroll in Heaton Moor, Heaton Mersey and Heaton Norris. Sorry, Heaton Chapel. You’ll be getting a lot more of my attention soon. thescarfmyfatherwore.substack.com/p/drenched-on-didsbury-road

County haven’t won for four weeks. Never mind the title (for now…), we desperately need three points this afternoon to settle the nerves in terms of the automatic promotion race. Let’s not even think about a defeat, which could put us in the play-offs by 5pm, with Crewe and MK Dons both facing teams in the bottom six. Ed Chadwick, Jonathan Baker and Ian Brown join us to offer their opinions. thescarfmyfatherwore.substack.com/p/county-v-newport

Mansfield lost at Tranmere. MK Dons lost at Grimsby. Wrexham dropped points at home to Harrogate. I know Crewe got a late winner at home to Sutton, but Tuesday couldn’t have gone much better for County. A point is all we need to climb back up to second tonight, but all three would put us level with leaders Mansfield, and with a game in hand. I bloody love games like this at the end of the season. Come on County! Ian Brown joins us today ahead of the short trip to Moor Lane. thescarfmyfatherwore.substack.com/p/salford-v-county-d9f

Salford fans are like waiting for a Northern Rail train to turn up. You wait for ages and then none come along at once. I’ve not been able to find an Ammie to speak to, but we do have Dave Philbin joining us today, to reflect on last night’s eventful local derby. thescarfmyfatherwore.substack.com/p/salford-2-county-2

With no game today, please allow me to share my latest instalment from ‘The Streets of Stockport’ after walking another 23 miles eight days ago (the Friday before Newport at home). I’ve almost done the whole of Heaton Norris now. Another three full days of walking and I reckon I’ll have ticked off SK4 completely. Just seven Stockport postcodes to go after that! thescarfmyfatherwore.substack.com/p/a-jacket-potato-at-the-old-poco-a
