I hope you're right, I saw a pub owner on TV saying that things are tougher now than during covid, the rise in costs are crippling them, even Spoons are closing something like 35 pubs. Is it a case of there are too many establishments about now doing food with so more choice than it used to be. Then like everything some will be doing better thailln others where price as well as quality comes into the equasion more than it might have done a few years back. Know now you have to search down your bill to see if the service charge has been included especially if you do not agree with that being on a bill prefering to tip the waiter or not depending on the whole experiance you had. I don’t have much of an issue with places adding a service charge and would rarely if ever ask for it to be removed/changed BUT if it’s one of those places who decide that you’ll contribute a £1 to their nominated charity I do ask for it to be removed. Happy to give to charities of my own choice (and I do some voluntary work for one locally) but I won’t be shamed into contributing to one at the behest of a large business.

Where’s decent for a brunch in Stockport? Mrs suede is away tonight so got the kids til about 11:30 tomorrow when I can throw them both at her when she gets off the train.
Doesn’t have to have a dedicated kids menu or anything, they’re pretty good at eating whatever is in front of them, but somewhere child-friendly (but still good quality) would be good.

Can't remember the exact name but the Lounge place at Red Rock is decent enough. They have venues in Didsbury, Chorlton and Cheadle as well. Also, This Godless Place near the market is pretty good.

If they are anything like my lad was at 5 or 6 he flatly refused anything from a kids menu as he thought he wasn,t a kid anymore. Last time he did he consumed 2 kids meals at Asda in Nuneaton so i never repeated it.

Just another thing thats crept in over the last few years. What was wrong with the old collection boxes places used to put out. Think most contribute to some charity anyway but not to all. Same at EP where i pick and choose.

Yes, Berretto Lounge in Stockport and Brezo Lounge in Cheadle are quite good and usually plenty of room.

I was hoping the Colombian place on St Petersgate would be open tomorrow, but it’s a fair walk from the statue unveiling to go back to the courtyard if its not, Bask or Sivoris I guess

Anyone tried that Vedaa on Cheadle High Street? seen a review where food looks outstanding and chef has worked in several Michelin star establishments in the past
Checked pricing out online and looks more than reasonable too, on Stockport Eats but outside my delivery range but looks like type of place will have to treat myself to a sit down meal in

Stockport pub crawl. Where are the must visits for people into their beer?
So far I’ve got:
Heaton Hops Project 53 Magnet Petersgate Tap Spinnoff
Is Runaway open at the moment?

I suppose it depends on what you mean by beer. If it's cask I haven't a scooby but if craft, keg, belgian/german etc then: Bottle (heaton moor) Reddish ale The bottle mill Archive (used to have dozens of bottles/cans but just the 12 or so taps now, still good) Cracked actor The beer shop (quirky little place) The Angel (do a great German wheat and helles)
