Where has this the club/Stott doesn't expect promotion come from? Simon Wilson in the summer spelled it out in his summer update in black and white that the club are aiming for another promotion this season. The objective for this season is very much promotion.

not very level headed this week, was getting angrier and angrier today with the lack of urgency and seeming endeavour to win the game, I've just about calmed down now 😂😂 It was infuriating to watch… I was effing and jeffing at the TV.. no urgency at all. At one point one of our defenders kicked the ball away from a Swindon player for their throw in when we were supposed to be pushing for a goal and they were trying to time waste. I’d have been livid if I was Challinor. A bit odd.. but don’t really sense any degree of frustration in Challinor’s post match interview.. there should have been. You and me both swearing at the TV, maybe DC feels he had called players out enough recently and would be counter productive to do so again publicly after a win, id like to think privately he wasnt happy with what he watched and will address it,

Wootton was lucky not to have a 3 match ban for kicking out yesterday as we will need him on Friday

I’ll take it as a stretch goal, but as a regular performance target is silly IMHO.

I cannot for the life of me understand how we allowed Andy Cannon to go and brought Camps in instead… Camps is clearly a talented player but whatever it is that he has it is not right for us in this setup and Cannon could have played any of the three midfield roles with ease, all he needed was a run of first team games to get match fit Croasdale first name on the team sheet for me . He ran the show and scored when Fylde beat us 2-3 in the FA Trophy Semi some years back . Camps not cutting it for me . I would put Madden in the Collar role on Friday and play Tanto or Stretton . He has the intelligence to thread balls through I work with a Dale fan and he really rates Camps, but said he was getting a bit tired at the Club and it was time to move on. Camps has a lot of experience at League One level with Rochdale and Fleetwood (8 seasons) and I guess DC wants to bring in some quality players from a higher level. A real shame he isn't performing though, not impressed at all. Cannon seems the better option.

Not from me, Rydel is criminally underrated by DC. Wingers/Wing Backs are notoriously inconsistent, young players are notoriously inconsistent, so, you see where I’m going with this He is not Gareth Bale let’s be clear about that but he has many similarities and I have no doubt he will advance up the pitch as his career develops, I just hope that Dave Challinor recognises it Nobody at the Club creates as many opportunities as Rydel, we need him on the pitch, the ball delivered to him quickly, and get in the box for his delivery I wonder if those giving Rydel pelters were watching the stream. Watching live he was ignored by Hussey or even the simplest set up balls were terrible leading to a rushed/ poor cross. Hussey never game him the ball in space - in fact he never does. Don't rate him at all tbh I was watching the stream and I thought, in the first half particularly, Rydel was way below par. Looked lethargic, misplaced passes, lost possession and was a general net negative, as were most of the team out there. Where I will agree with other comments is that he doesn’t seem to fit with Hussey at all, and most of the blame there has to go to Hussey. He is supposed to be an outlet along with Wright, or our system doesn’t work. He just didn’t help us get the ball up the pitch (other than lofted hoofs in the vague direction of Wootton). Rydel looked a lot better this season with Hippo as the left sided attacking mid, they had some great quick interchanges and we looked a lot more potent - of course everyone was in better form a couple of months ago. We need an upgrade on Hussey in the summer no matter what division we’re in, but that’s been done to death on here. He has a big hole in his game in that attackers can get on his shoulder and just run past him, it happened with their penalty shout, and several goals against this season. I’d be tempted to go back 4 with Horsfall and Johnson vs Salford. If Hussey isn’t helping the team attack down the left, you might as well play a better defender.

Don't rate him at all tbh This stood out a mile at Barrow. Hussey moves the ball upfield well but either crosses the ball himself from a long way back or keeps coming to the point where he and Rydel end up surrounded by opponents by the corner flag where neither can do any good. Yesterday's goal against Swindon showed Ryan Rydel at his best, running at defenders and putting a dangerous cross in.

I like him and he has a lot of experience from playing in League One. They both spent five to six years together at Rochdale.

Hussey/Rydel playing together is definitely an issue and has been for a while now; Hussey is reluctant to play the ball so either pushes further forward, which gives Rydel no room to find space for a pass, or he'll turn back and play the safe ball to the CB. Plus they tend to get in each others way a few times in games. Just a partnership that seems unlikely to come off and cannot blame either player as these things happen. I do wonder if Hussey having spent most of his career as a left back, and Rydel being a left wing back, is the cause of this. Hussey can occupy those spaces when he’s playing with Hippolyte because Hippo is naturally looking to move further forward, not being a natural lwb.

Yeah same, I was stood right at the barrier and you could see and hear the frustration between the two of them for that whole half. Hussey wanted Rydel to move and make space but ran him into a corner time and again because he wouldn't play the early ball. Don't mean to be overly critical towards Hussey as he's a very good defender but that left hand side is a big reason we look stifled going forward at the minute.

Can’t mention Hussey without talking about how he throws himself to the floor multiple times a game too, usually when he’s run out of ideas or ran himself into a corner.
I know it often wins us a free kick but it’s pretty poor to see him doing that at the slightest touch.

I'm going to play devil's advocate and say I really like Hussey.
