Fan owned clubs can work and it's the most sustainable option but for now let's not run before we can walk. I think fan involvement is all that we can wish for at this moment in time. We need to find credible ways of raising income streams for the coop to build the war chest. This is where Fitzy and HtH can help.

This (from the link) sounds shit:
"You buy these containers that are furbished and put them together, you wouldn't even notice you are in a container. There are five million empty containers in this country. A firm puts them together like Lego blocks and there is a 6,000 capacity stadium being put together like that in Asia. We've looked at that and it is about the third of the cost of bricks and mortar."

With the right vision and a good architect you can make something individual that has character but from the sound of it, it does sound shit!

Fan owned clubs can work and it's the most sustainable option but for now let's not run before we can walk. They can work but so can privately owned clubs. We've been stung by both, I'm not sure if/how we could rise back through the leagues being fan owned? Can't think of too many fan owned clubs who are particularly successfull / well known? whereas the league/s are full of privately owned clubs. So i'd genuinely be interested to hear how being fan owned would benefit us in winning football matches and progressing?

The best way for a fan owned club to work is to start afresh, FC United being the best example, it's then a case of living within your means and success will increase your income which will lead to more success and then more income.

which of course is exactly the same reason why many are so down on fan-owned clubs.
With a couple of exceptions (FCUM and Enfield Town), the fans only ever end up taking control of clubs as an absolute last resort, meaning the club is invariably in a hideous mess and have to firefight against it from the very start, generally meaning they don't have a great deal of success. Exeter are probably the only exception to that, and that relied to a large extent on the huge luck of drawing Man U in the cup.

Barcelona have done a decent job of things. Imagine if United were fan owned I'd bet they could get a million at least putting £25 a year each in, add that to the gate receipts, the TV, merchandising and sponsorship etc. it's difficult to see how it could fail. On a much smaller scale it should be easier.

Here's an idea (don't know the legalities) have a yearly draw £25 per ticket, if you can flog 2500 that would raise £62500 per year, you could have a top prize of say £5000 and 5 of £1000 and 5 of £500 that would net 50k. Again it is probably totally illegal but the sought of thing people would say yeah I'll have a punt at that
