If we win this weekend and Carlisle beat Northampton, then we beat Carlisle on Tuesday. That's the best outcome for the next 2 games. At least I think it is. Realistically best outcome would be Northampton to beat Carlisle and for us to beat Carlisle, then there is a 6 point lead for us with 3 to go (assuming we beat Gillingham).

Yes us beating Carlisle and Gillingham, and Carlisle losing to Northampton would set us up very nicely. A Carlisle v Northampton draw would also be good if we win both our games. One game at a time though. Gillingham won't be easy we need to be at our best.

Must admit, the results I am looking for at the moment are Mansfield and Salford, if it goes Pete Tong for us over the next week and they keep winning we could fall out of the play offs.......

Never mind automatic - one of the top 8 are going to miss out on the play-offs. Could easily be any of current 3 to 8. The comeback for Salford yesterday was huge.

Season is almost at an end. Instead of looking at these next two as tricky ones, just have the balls and confidence to win them both like we can. We made the mistake towards the end of last season treating games with Grimsby and Yeovil as banana skins when they shouldn't have been, nearly cost us.

We made the mistake towards the end of last season treating games with Grimsby and Yeovil as banana skins when they shouldn't have been, nearly cost us. grimsby, we went with no fear but sarcevic ended up getting sent off and we had to play and hour with 10 men and between the 28th and 38th minute we had 4 yellow cards and the red card. Ref set the tone of the game especially considering after the sarcevic red, they're player did a worse tackle on minihan and I don't remember it being a foul although long time ago. We are the form side in the league but Gillingham have picked up the same amount of points as us since the turn of the year (32). Barring we have no injurys, go with the same 11 that started against Newport. Subs have to be spot on with a long trip to Carlisle couple days later, where changes will have to be made.

For me, a draw is a far better result. You want Northampton to fall back into the pack and then there's 2 spots up for grabs. It's not as simple as us picking up more points than Carlisle in the remaining games. Sides behind us can still overtake us with their games in hand (and that's without us dropping points). Though, to be honest, there's no bad result really and we just need to focus on ourselves. 5 wins will do it barring freak results.

Could be crucial if we keep on winning and Carlisle slip up given the obvious I have no doubt it'll be 3rd time unchanged side unless there is any potential injuries (hopefully not) It'll be a very difficult selection, Paddy was really good when he came on but Stretton's movement was equally good and I think made a big difference, we've started to find space in the final 3rd. Hope DC keeps it as it was v newport. We looked better than we have been and paddy looked a real super sub which is something we have been missing since crankshaw last season. Not every player can change things from the bench and its more than a co incidence that stretton has scored twice in his two starts after looking anonymous coming off the bench.

Byrne is similar to Johnson in as much as he is a solid defender but he’s limited on the ball, our failure to get a proper LCB last summer (and unforgivably again in the winter window) means it’s probably wise to keep the same lineup if we can; Paddy looked much better and will no doubt reclaim his place at some point but Stretton is performing well and deserves to start So I agree, same again
